What ho, everyone!

First, I'm searching for a fic which has sadly biffed off amid the mists of memory. It's so unique and bizarre that I'm not even sure it exists? Or did I make it up? It involves Jeeves leaving Bertie's employment, setting up in a resort somewhere, and playing a germane Oscar Wilde type to the resort guests. There's a conversation on the beach where he points out one of the girls' white dress only looks demure, but when the owner steps in front of sunlight, the whole thing looks transparent and it shows off her figure. He tells someone: "Why should I go to the world, when the world can come to me?"

He eventually returns to Bertie, and Bertie in his absence has learnt to do basic household tasks and is doing okay. He had never engaged another valet.

Second thing - rec me a writer!Bertie fic! I mean, P.G. Wodehouse is a recognized Literary Genius and Prose-smith (made that word up). In the J&W world it's Bertie coming up with all these wonderful narrative flourishes and fantastic dialogue. Rec me a fic where someone recognises that Bertie is more than just a member of the blood-sucking aristocracy.

I just finished reading the lovely Joy in the Morning by Heliophile. In it Bertie goes on a ramble about marriage and at one point mentiones that if he were a Lady with a large enough household to warrant a butler (said butler being Jeeves of course) he, or she rather, would not hesitate to propose marriage or at least indicate strongly that a proposal from Jeeves would be very welcome despite the class difference and family propriety be damned. This got me thinking, is there a story with a premise like this where Bertie (or Jeeves, though I would prefer Bertie) is female and the hair in the soup of happyness is not gender but the class difference? Any recommendations that even vaguely fit this premises would be very welcome, thank you!

Hello. Would anybody be able to point me in the direction of some fics that feature a virgin/inexperienced/celibate/anxious-when-it-comes-to-sex!Jeeves? I really want to read something where Bertie is the more experienced of the two. Thanks very much!

HOLD UP WAIT A MINUTE I just remembered the premise finally. It's the one where the boys get bunged into a storm or sommat and wake up in the twenty-first century and have to go about sorting out their new life and what the new setting means for them and their relationship. (Edit: Found this one, still looking for the other.)

While I'm about it, there's another, where Jeeves and Bertie are a thing but they haven't done the do cause Bertie is all "but we're not married" and the whole thing ends up with Bertie writing Jeeves into his will as his sole benefactor and reckons that's the best he can manage and they toddle off to France for a bit of a honeymoon. (edit: this one also found. Thanks guys!)

tl;dr: Need recs for J/W fic from at least two years ago, if not older.

Hallo all! I'm doing one of those help-me-find-this-fic-I-remember thingummies, but there's a bit of a hitch.

I was reading Yes, Sir, Jeeves this morning and something in the second half sparked a memory of another fic that I wanted to read. I could remember very clearly the title and all at the moment, but by the time I'd got to the end of the paragraph and found a suitable stopping point to go pull it up I'd forgotten everything- including the blasted premise!

Which is why I'm ankling round here. I'm digging through the archive manually at the moment hoping it'll jump out at me, but I'm hoping you guys can save me a bit of time.

Now, I'm not asking you to find a fic you don't even know the premise for, that would be asking a bit much, right? All I'm asking is recs for fic. That's not so hard, right? The catch is that the fic has to be at least two, if not three years old or older- that's the last time I dipped my feet in this fandom, after all, so it has to have existed at least as late as then. Only condition is that it has to be J/W- other pairings need not apply.

I really hope this is up with the rules of the comm and all. It's going to bug me till I've found it, I know.

I just finished reading Brinkley Manor and I was a little perturbed with the treatment Bertie received from Jeeves after his bicycle ride from hell; it struck me as being pretty coldhearted. I'd like to read some fics where Jeeves' response is kinder, more concerned or caring toward Bertie.

Tally ho, dear comrades!

I'm taking a break from my hibernation to ask about a multi-chapter fic I remember reading a few years ago. It started off with Bertie getting a rather sudden illness/condition that resulted in him going blind. In retrospect, I think the doctor even had to take his eyes out (dear god, I do hope I'm not making this up). A lot of angstiness ensues, but Jeeves stays devotedly by his side and makes him accept his fate and learn to live with it.

Clues, anyone?

Apart from that, I would like some recommendations on similar Jooster fics where Bertie is actually behaving solemnly/competently in contrast to his usual self. To be short, I'd appreciate angsty plots, with suicide attempt or something of the kind. ~~Ignore my dark fixations, if you please.~~ :D

Hi, I'm hoping to get some story recommendations along certain themes.

-- The first one is violent Spode. I remembere one story where Spode almost kills Bertie over something he didn't even do (of course). If I remember correctly it was a very close call and Jeeves had to become violent to stop Spode. I would love to find this story and all stories similar to it with Spode (or a Spode like character) attacking Bertie and Jeeves coming to the rescue.

-- Secondly I would love to find stories where Bertie plays classical music to please Jeeves even if he likes show tunes better. Any story like this or others were Bertie's love and talent for music comes into play would be very welcome.

Hello! I'm a bit of a lurker in this community and have been gone quite some time because of life, but I've been tearing through Jooster fic lately like a mad thing, and reading so much just wants me to read more. But there are a couple types of fic I keep wanting to read and haven't found much of... I am really hopeful people will have recs! :)

1. Jeeves has to work to make it up to Bertie when a scheme ends up hurting Bertie. Bonus if the incident has made Bertie feel uncertain or hurt in some way, especially about Jeeves. (I've read

backfrommars' WIP Jeeves and the Incalculable Mistake, which I loved and has made me want to see more more more!)

2. Jealous!Bertie seeing Jeeves dating or flirting with some other cove. (I haven't seen this yet though I really, really want to find some. Well, I haven't seen any recently. I vaguely recall reading some about a year ago. Any recs would be so great!)

3. Jooster bondage smut--either PWP or fic with plot, any at all, I love all types of fic. :D (I absolutely adored

derien's Absence of Madeline, which has a scene with a really toppy Jeeves and some gorgeous bondage, and I also really need more of this.)

Any recs guys? Pretty please with a Jooster on top? (I'd offer writing Jooster for the community, but I fear my Wodehouse voice is terribly...nonexistent, really, which makes me sad.)

What ho, all.

I've been craving a bit of Bertie/Jeeves established fic of late, but as I poke around the comm I find that everything I find seems to be first-time smut. Now, first-time smut is all well and good, but it's not what I'm looking for and what's more I can't find any of what I'm looking for. So, any of you chaps and chappesses have any recommendations? I'm looking for established J/W, complete, within the 1ooo-1oooo word range (though some variation is of course welcome; I just don't have a particular fondness for very long fic).

Any help would be greatly appreciated, please and thanks~

(Ps, there's also a fic I remember reading that had Bertie and Jeeves on a cruise, and there was dancing, I think? Does anyone know the name of that one? I've got an itch to read it again and it seems to have not gone bookmarked with the others.)

So, that last search where somebody requested Sorting Out the Dance Card got me thinking of another fic. In Dance Card there's that scene where Bertie runs into Honoria and she tries to drag him to a shooting party but he turns her down like a blanket. And that reminded me of another fic where there's a similar scene. Some beazle or other is trying to drag Bertie I think down the aisle and he straight up tells her no. In that one I think he and Jeeves have just come to an understanding but not *cough* consummated it when it happens and Jeeves assumes Bertie will do his usual preux routine and he's really annoyed until Bertie says it's not an issue because he's turned the girl down.

Is this ringing any bells for anybody? And while we're at it any recs for any other stories where Bertie just gets sick of being jerked around and starts just telling people off (or just telling them no) would be awesome.

What ho, old chaps, what ho! Inspired by the post below me, I would like to ask for fanfic recs, specifically of the hurt/comfort variety. Recently I watched "Brinkley Court," and the terrible biking scene always manages to smash my heart into bits. I was wondering if there were any fics out there which acted as a supplement or alternative ending thingummy to that episode?

Hurt/comfort fics in general would be topping, though, as poor Bertie gets mistreated so often during the show/books that I just want to give him a cuddle...only Jeeves is fit for that job, though. ;D

Hello, all! I've just been rewatching the series over the past few days, and it's got me seeking further gratification now I'm nearly done. I'm afraid I'm not much for writing fic these days, but I'd quite like to read anything you lovely chaps can recommend. I'm looking for something lighthearted, keeping in tone with the series, with ample amounts of fluff and joy; nothing dark or depressing or angst-ridden, thank you, though hardly Madeline Basset levels of cavity-inducing sweetness. I also like medium-length one-shots, as I've not quite the attention span for anything that consists of many chapters. The preferred pairing, of course, is Jeeves/Wooster, though if you've anything of Mrs. Rockmateller*/Duke of Chiswick lying around, that will also be appreciated.

(I do hope this isn't in bad form, but you see I'm rather new around here and looking about, it seems this isn't an entirely unheard of practice. And if I've tagged wrong or otherwised bunked something up, please tell me so I can correct it immediately.)

*I think that's her name, anyway.

Recently (no more than a few hours ago, I should say)

wotwotleigh showed me the delightful musical By Jeeves saying that Martin Jarvis' version of Jeeves was what she imagined when she read the books.

Now, I'm not sure if she meant age as well, but it got me thinking: are there any fics out there where Jeeves is significantly older (as is portrayed in this adaption)?

ETA: I just remembered a fic I was looking for. Does anyone know the fic where Bertie read one of his muder novels and is starting to notice he's being followed, he tells Jeeves, who thinks he is being paranoid, and writes it off, but then one day, Jeeves goes out to do some marketing or other and Bertie gets jumped answering his own door. His last recollection before black out is Jeeves coming home and going Hulk on the baddies. (LOVE BAMF!Jeeves)

Mods, feel free to delete this if it's off topic, but I'm afraid I've got a new computer now that my old one has gone to the great Server in the Sky and thus all my bookmarks have been lost. I seem to remember a topping one that had the line "This repulsive cove was stalking me, like a cat creeping after a small fuzzy Bertram" and my google-fu is weak, leaving me roving the interwebs with nary a small Bertie in sight. Has anyone heard of it? I seem to remember poor Bertie got biffed on the head and Jeeves came charging in like a white knight.

And alternatively, does anyone have any fics they'd like to recommend? I'm a sucker for Bertie-bashing and Jeevsian angst with a happy ending, but then again I like all Jooster so fire your favorites away, kind gents and gentesses!
