Drabbles

I've finally gotten around to actually finishing a fanfic, though its only some drabbles. I used a random word generator and took what words it gave me for inspiration and titles. The drabbles range from angst to fluff.

Title: 10 drabbles
Pairing: A bit of Jeeves and Bertie in a weird way.
Rating: Mostly G, though one of them I suppose would be Pg for containing death.
Words: 1000
Disclaimer: I don't own Jeeves and Bertie, just borrowing them.

Title: A Deuced Difficult Dilemma
Chapter: 8/?
Pairing: Bertie/OFC, Bertie/Jeeves (eventually)
Summary: Bertie is dismayed to find that he rather likes the latest girl that Aunt Agatha is egging him on to marry.
Rating: PG
Words: 1,799
Disclaimer: None of Wodehouse's characters belong to me. I'm just writing this for fun.

Gah, more of this at last! Part 1 is here, part 2 is here, part 3 is here, part 4 is here, part 5 is here, part 6 is here, part 7 is here.

At first I thought there were two or three valets in my bedroom . . . )

Rules:

1) A drabble is, by definition, a 100-word story therefore all responses should be 100 words exactly, no exceptions.
2) You may also choose to respond to this challenge with a five-minute sketch.
3) PLEASE put the word DRABBLE at the top of your post. That way people can easily spot the drabbles in amongst any reader comments they receive.

RATING: I don't think this should be limited so reader beware that they could be any rating (you could put it in the subject line if you feel it needs it)

PLEASE try to remember to make each drabble a comment in response to the original post. That way, if the comments start to collapse, the drabbles themselves should remain visible. Thanks.

In honor of the reason the real drabble challenge owner is not posting this:

I was hanging out in a forum where someone was reviewing that "Fifty Shades of Grey" book and, to my surprise, I learned that it was NOT (as I had thought) a book with fifty different Twilight fanfics in it by fifty different authors.

This saddened me, because even though I've never read Twilight or had an interest in it, I thought fifty different 'fics for a fandom combined in one book was a pretty nifty idea.

So then I started thinking about what I would do for a book like that. And of course I thought of Bertie. I figured, "Okay, Bella would meet Bertie and fall in love for him and he would accidentally become engaged to her, as is wont to happen. She would cling to him at every opportunity and Edward would get jealous and follow them everywhere."

So that is where you get this incredibly silly, drabblish thing, which jumps right in with a description of Edward:

Bertie and the Dashed Annoying Vampire

As for this chappie, he was certainly an odd bird. He seemed to be taking a page from Lord Byron's book. Very much the pale, romantic figure, the sort of fellow one expects to find wandering around the Third Act of a tragedy, if you get my drift. But whereas Byron, by all accounts, knew how to kick up his heels after a hard 9-to-5 of poetry, this silly cove just dogged my footsteps every day, glowering from a respectable distance and diving behind trees whenever I glanced back. I didn't actually meet him, per se, until I jogged around a corner rather too fast--I'd just spotted Bella mooning around in the distance and wanted to make a hasty escape--and bumped right into him!

He stared at me. I stared at him.

"Nice day," I ventured after a minute or two of mute eyeballing.

"Bella . . ." he began, his voice trailing away with a snuffling, choking sound in his throat. I briefly considered applying the Heimlech before realizing this was merely a sign of High Emotion. "Bella . . . is mine!" he managed at last.

"Oh, is she?" I said with considerable relief.

"You may have bedazzled her, but she is still mine. Mine!"

"Well, well. Spiffing! I mean it--topping news. I hope you'll be very happy together."

"DON'T MOCK ME!" He turned away, flinging his arm over his face. This was frankly an improvement, since whatever lotion or cream he was in the habit of applying had given him a lacquered look that nearly blinded me when combined with the cheery sunshine of the hour. "She WILL come to me, I tell you!"

"Quite, quite," I soothed. The sooner I could dump the young prune into his arms, the better, as far as I was concerned.

"I love her, you know," he said hoarsely, like a fat man who has just watched someone else scarf down the last of the roast potatoes before he got a crack at them. "Sometimes . . . I stand in her room. And watch her sleep."

"Er . . ." I couldn't think of a proper response to this, although "Seek professional help" seemed like a good place to start.

Hello everyone!

I recently fell in love with the Jeeves and Wooster fandom and I only today realized that this community existed. A few weeks ago I started a collection of 100 drabbles as well as short one-shots on fanfiction.net and a very kind soul informed me that it might be good to post them here. I've added links if anyone is interested in checking them out :)

I wrote a silly little drabble. It's my first Jeeves fic and nothing much, but it was fun to write. Here are the basic details on it:

Title: Summary
Characters & Pairings: Bertie Wooster, Dahlia Travers, and Reginald Jeeves
Rating & Warnings: All Audiences
Word Count: 232
Summary: "Did I ever tell you about the time..."

You can read the fic here at the [livejournal.com profile] day_by_drabble community for which it was written based on the prompt "Resolution".

Also, I hope this doesn't sound like too much of an annoying ad, but [livejournal.com profile] day_by_drabble is awesome! They run periodic month-long challenges with a prompt a day and people post fics of up to 1000 words from any and all fandoms (except real person fic). Since it is for all kinds of short fic, it is a really easy way to try out new fandoms, get some new ideas for old fandoms, or just have a little quick fun. The current set is running from Jan. 15 to Feb. 15 so if anyone is interested, there's plenty of time to join in. I think this is the first Jeeves fic posted there and I'd love to see more, but, as I said, they take any fandom. The basic information for the current drabblethon is here.

I have a plot!bunnie for adoption.
I was re-watching a favorite anime of mine: Ghost Stories (even if you don't like anime I recommend it. The English dubbing is ALL parody and hilarious) and thought about Bertie being a sort of exorcist in school, thus explaining his winning the Scripture Prize fairly.
The ghosts could be more active during Bertie's childhood because of the industrial era and all the vessels the ghosts and demons were banished too are being demolished and setting them free.
Any takers?
Yes? No?
Maybe so?

What ho!

*newcomer shuffles feet shyly and looks at the floor*

I discovered this fandom some five years ago, but in the last month or so I've come back to take another look and fallen head over heels for the stuff you guys do. And then Jooster got mixed up with a bunch of things I was thinking about and then I wrote a pair of drabbles, the 100-word kind, which are not nearly adequate thanks for the amazing fic I've been reading. So. Here those are.

Title: Service

Hiya folks! Nice ta meetcha!

So... I'm a lurker. This is my chief profession. You might notice that I've been on Livejournal for... a good while, and still have pretty much no info in my profile. Ehehe. I have also been regularly visiting this community for pretty much AGES.  It just occurred to me that I might as well post this drabble here...

Beware the unbeta-ed-ness. ^_^;
