What ho, old chaps, what ho! Inspired by the post below me, I would like to ask for fanfic recs, specifically of the hurt/comfort variety. Recently I watched "Brinkley Court," and the terrible biking scene always manages to smash my heart into bits. I was wondering if there were any fics out there which acted as a supplement or alternative ending thingummy to that episode?

Hurt/comfort fics in general would be topping, though, as poor Bertie gets mistreated so often during the show/books that I just want to give him a cuddle...only Jeeves is fit for that job, though. ;D

Yeah, I think it's a requirement that all writers on this comm do a version of the bicycle ride story, and a drunken Jeeves;) Well, at least we should have a tag for those two, lol!

Jeeves and the Incalculable Mistake is excellent, but a work in progress. Though if you were to read it and send some encouraging words to Backfrommars, it might go a long way to help it get completed. Sorry, but It's awesome and I want to see how it ends:)

There are some others, but I was just rereading I. M. the other night, so it's on my brain.

A good bit of the stuff I've posted over on my [livejournal.com profile] mice1900 journal is h/c and/or angsty. The ones that are primarily Bertie getting whumped and Jeeves taking care of him in one way or another are:

Unsuitable (http://mice1900.livejournal.com/106609.html)

Jeeves and the Spade of Spode (http://mice1900.livejournal.com/100432.html) and its parallel tale Mr Wooster and the Incident of the Spade (http://mice1900.livejournal.com/100676.html)

and

Jeeves and the Hole in Time (http://mice1900.livejournal.com/96623.html), which is also an AU with a cracktastic premise that actually seems to work for folks.

Jeeves and the Secret of Service (http://mice1900.livejournal.com/105230.html) deals with the bicycle ride incident, but not specifically in a h/c way. It's also way seriously kinky, so if you're not into that you might not like the story. Big-time angst and smut, though.

Can I just say that all stories over on that journal are brilliant! I love the two Spode ones, not to mention the one with the Speakeasy (Midnight Raid?) where it is Jeeves that gets hurt.

Are all stories on AO3 (http://archiveofourown.org/users/Mice/pseuds/Mice/works?selected_tags[]=1520) as well?

Thank you! *blush*

Yes, those are my stories, over on AO3. And did you see that [livejournal.com profile] ironicbees just did an illustration for Jeeves and the Midnight Raid (the very story you mention) that got posted yesterday here on IndeedSir? I am asquee!

I love Jeeves and the Hole in Time so much. I could not stop reading it the first time I did so. Also, Jeeves and the Secret of Service is hellishly hot.

Thank you! *blush* I did rather intend it to be "hellishly hot." ;)

No problem! In fact, after this thread, I dl'ed Jeeves and the Hole in Time from AO3 and put it on ye olde kindle to bring with me to my sister-in-law's house for Thanksgiving. Oh, how I love Joan.

You can put fanfics on Kindle?? :O How?

('Scuse my ignorance, but I've only had my Kindle for a couple weeks and I just recently figured out how to download books from Amazon.... *is quite mentally negligible*)

You can! In the past, I have copied and pasted the text into a text file, then turned that into a PDF or Mobi using Calibre, then simply dragged the saved file into the Kindle docs. Apparently, though, as someone on here told me, on AO3 there is a download button that will turn it into whatever type of file you need, then you just find the file and pull it into the Kindle docs folder. Obvs, you have to have the Kindle plugged into your comp to do these things. But, yeah. Let me know if you need any help. Fic on Kindle is the stuff of awesomeness.

(Don't worry. Bertie would love that about you.)

'Fic on Kindle is the stuff of awesomeness.'

Indeed it is! I can't wait to try it!

'Let me know if you need any help.'

Thank you! I most certainly will. :)

(I hope so! I rather hope Jeeves would find it charming as well. ;D)

It's not related to the bike scene, but Jeeves and the Red Legion (http://community.livejournal.com/indeedsir/227537.html) is a nice h/c fic.

Meant to say before accidentally posting, that other one as a request for Great War fic, and this kind of cross-lists. Jeeves has scary trench feet. Bertie finally gets a look at them, and reassures Jeeves that he's still super hot.
