I'm sure that someone's caught this before, but it made me gasp in surprise when I noticed it.
During the first episode, when Claude and Eustace arrive at Bertie's flat, the dialogue runs something like this...
Claude: He's not Bertie!
Eustace: He's better looking than Bertie.
Also, right afterward, Claude and Eustace's friend (Rainsby, I think?) is in the kitchen with them, and Eustace tells him to "Go get the things, dollface." [Edit: Turns out he actually says 'Dogface'. Shame.]
Oh, the slashiness. How it hurts.
So...any other good Claude or Eustace moments? Anyone?

Date: 2009-05-03 11:53 pm (UTC)Okay it may very well have been written to be an insult against Bertie, but it came across as so incredibly gay and ... camp.
Though the entire club Bertie's in seems pretty damned camp.
There's one episode later on where Bertie's supposed to keep one of his friends away from the theatre, on command of his aunt, but he doesn't know it as he never got the letter because the friend destroyed it. That whole 'keep him away from those awful theatre people!' and how he started going around dressed similarly to Noel Coward, made me think!
