Am I delusional or did Bertie once describe himself as being 'safe in taxis'?

I don't remember that. Brits do say safe as houses though. Are taxis as safe as houses?

If he did say that, it wouldn't mean the same thing as "safe as houses". I would interpret it to mean that he wouldn't pounce on an unwilling girl.

I think I remember it being in a fic, although I don't re-all it anywhere else...

Bertie is definitely not the type to turn into grabby man.

I am absolutely positive he did say that girls knew he was safe in taxis, ie would not get grabby, but I can't quote exactly where. I'll try to find it.

"Safe in cabs"

In Saylee's "Jeeves and the Rescue" (http://archiveofourown.org/works/728173), Bertie said "because she (Angela) already knew I was safe in cabs"! (The line appears in the end of the story.)

Took almost one hour to find this fic.. (*sigh*) but it's OK, I wanted to know where did I read this phrase. Nice fic must be remembered ;)

I hope this is what you are looking for :D
