Some art and a question

First, I was asked again to re-upload my period music fanmix. Before I decide whether to do that, I'd like to get an idea of how many of you missed it the first time around or lost it or whatever and would like me to put it up again. Please let me know if you're interested. I'm not totally sure I want to go to the trouble if there's only maybe a couple of people.


Now for the art.



Maybe it's just me, but I felt like my pictures were often a little too stiff (not the good kind) and didn't have enough fluidity. So I decided to stop using references unless absolutely necessary and go ahead & take some artistic liberties. It's been much more fun this way :D. Is it noticeable at all?





This last one's an older picture that's been sitting around in one of my sketchpads for a while (the first two are new).

I've always loved your artwork, but I also think I may detect a bit more movement here, particularly in the second picture. In any case, the detail of their hands touching pretty much sold me on that one. XD

I like the second one best. Why are sock garters so awesome? Stupid elastic. Without it people would still wear them.

Also, I don't want to be nit picky, I mean this as con crit, since you did ask, but in that second one, the proportions on Bertie's lower legs and feet do look a bit off. A little on the small side. But I love the pose, especially the curve of the spine.

I also like the little details on Bertie's clothes in the first one. His collar and tie and the suspender. All three of them are lovely.

I don't know why, they just are. XD Stupid elastic indeed. I have a couple of pairs of non-elastic topped socks, and they're sooo comfortable. Of course, me lacking sock garters, I keep having to pull them up, but it's worth it to not have elastic digging into my calves.

Hmmm, it's hard to say. Compared to Jeeves's legs, they do look too small, but then he's supposed to be skinnier...I keep looking and they seem about right to me, but maybe the angle is messing with my perception?

First off, a predictable 'Yay! ironicbees's jooster!' Now that that's deal with.

Can't say if I would have noticed the defference had you not mentioned the new approach, but I certainly like these two better than some other recent stuff of yours. Beautiful and lively. Actually, very beautiful. Gorgeous natural lines and caught moment of movement on the second, and on the first - oooh, Jeeves's face, so adorable and precisely-simple.

In conclusion: that's art. =P Especially numero dos. Would have been nice to have some background, too.

(About Bertie's skinny legs, the skinniness was intentional - the figures were kind of meant to be a bit exaggerated/caricaturish. But I see what you mean. Actually it's Jeeves's right thigh that looks a little too thin to me.)

Awesome pictures! I love the 1st one with its sense that they just couldn't resist each other. The second one is charming, too. I love the playfulness. And the 3rd one is very romantic.

I loved your "previous" pictures, of course, but I think you may be right - these are a bit more "relaxed." Not that I prefer one over the other; I don't think I can decide which I like better :) Gah, they're all lovely!

Yes. Well. You know what I think. Love it. I understand what you mean with references killing artistic liberties, sometimes. I think you're quite experienced enough to skip them, if you want to. Some mentioned the skinniness, on which I agree, but it doesn't bother. Anyway. You seem relaxed in style, subject and coloring. They're gorgeous. ♥

Only if I've been doing a lot of drawing. Sadly for me, if I haven't drawn in a few weeks or so, it's like I forget everything and have to relearn it all when I pick up my pencil again, in which case I have to rely on references if I don't want to draw something that's completely off. :( It sucks having a crappy visual memory.

I really like these. I mean REALLY like these. The first picture is such a sweet little captured moment in time. Bertie in the second one is especially nice - I like the way he's slim but not muscled.

These are lovely, just like the rest of your works, but there is something more natural and easy about them. My favorite is the first one because of the quiet promise of passion that it evokes.

I don't mind Bertie being skinny. He does often say he has a willowy frame.

Thank you! I'm happy that they look noticeably easy to you. It's weird, but I kind of felt bad about it, like "You're just slopping lines onto the paper, you lazy-ass! Make some effort!" But that's silly of me, since in some ways it's harder to make something that looks pleasingly simple.

I agree, he's already canonically pretty slim, and I wasn't following precise anatomy here.
