Hello all! I've been lurking here for awhile, I meant to introduce myself, but I didn't have anything useful to contribute, so I kept putting it off. But now I have news of a sale, so here we go! Yesterday I stopped at Barnes and Noble, and while I was flipping through sock patterns in the knitting books someone announced on the loudspeaker that they were having a sale on TV boxed set DVDs. Hope springs e, and all that, so I toddled over to the music/movie section...

And they DID have Jeeves & Wooster! The complete series set was 30% off!
AND there was an extra 10% off for members.
AND I had a coupon for 10% off an item thanks to a coupon app on my phone.

So I ended up getting the whole set for just under $40!! I’m not sure how long the sale lasts, but if you’re looking to get your hands on the DVDs this is a good time for USA fans.

Also, I hadn't seen this posted here, but I thought it was pretty funny. Richard Dawkins wrote himself a bit of Jeeves fanfic,Jeeves and the Family Tree (link goes to PDF) in promotion of his newest book on Evolution, 'The Greatest Show on Earth.' He gets the language pretty spot-on, though I'm at a loss to what to call it. Is it a Mary Sue if you're not in it, but your product is??

This is my first post on this comm, so please let me know if I've messed something up and I'll be glad to fix it.

oh wow, Richard Dawkins does a damn good job of Wodehouse. Enough so that I might actually have to pick up Greatest Show and see if it's anywhere as good as The Selfish Gene and The Extended Phenotype. (And I've sworn off Dawkins after some of the things he's said, but that's neither here nor there.)

Thanks for sharing, cause that little short story made my morning more interesting.

Oh, Dawkins' little Bertie and Jeeves story was very cute, and the book plug was tastefully low-key. I really enjoyed it.

I misread 'Dawkins' as 'Dawson' and almost died of fangasm... my life was almost complete! Dash it!

Regardless, still a delightful contribution. :)
