What ho again!
Now I know to a lot of us it would be unthinkable that anyone except Fry and Laurie could play Bertie and Jeeves, but I got thinking when Ian Carmichael died about how different interpretations of the characters might work.  So, who would you like to see play Bertie and Jeeves?
To get the ball rolling, I'd like to see Colin Firth as Jeeves (http://actors.pick2web.com/pics/990988/colinfirth.jpg) because of his sterlingly stony-faced adorableness in Pride and Prejudice and A Single Man.  For Bertie, I might like his on-screen partner from A Single Man, Matthew Goode (http://img5.allocine.fr/acmedia/rsz/434/x/x/x/medias/nmedia/18/35/81/83/18817205.jpg).  He also was Charles in Brideshead Revisited so we know he can do comedy :)
Anyone?

Aha! I posted a similar sort of topic (http://community.livejournal.com/indeedsir/797500.html) a while back, prompted by the thought of Fred Astaire as Bertie. This is now leading to musings on a J&W musical version... mmm.

Alas, I suppose we are talking about actors who are still alive and young and dashing... to which I simply counter with the idea of a time machine (or, you know, a TARDIS)!

I've got a big backyard and a storage shed if someone's got the plans. ;)
