I do hope this is allowed: as an absolute novice in the world of Jeeves/Wooster slash, I hardly know where to begin. Would the more seasoned members of the comm see fit to recommend any classics of the genre?

Hm... there are so many excellent fics here, but I started with SkyBlue-Reverie's fics, and they're Classics if I ever saw Classic Jooster: http://skyblue-reverie.livejournal.com/tag/j/w+fic (start at the bottom with "The Matter of Mr Wooster's Headaches" and work your way up :-)

Please, please read [livejournal.com profile] skyblue_reverie's fics. She's amazing.

Her tags (http://skyblue-reverie.livejournal.com/tag/j/w+fic) for the fic - start at the bottom, and work your way up, as it is a series. To make it easier, Read this first. (http://skyblue-reverie.livejournal.com/2875.html) It's excellent.

There are other fics to read, but yes. Start there.

Mina! What are you doing here? Are you going to invade every fandom of mine? :D

You, my dear, have excellent taste. And you need to read [livejournal.com profile] triedunture's stories, pronto. Her fic is here (http://triedunture.livejournal.com/tag/fic). I have other recs for you, but, um... will have to send them to you later when I'm not trying to pack up all my stuff for a morning flight.

I second this wholeheartedly. I rec Jeeves and the Mighty Tarpon, The Long Road, Jeeves in the Kitchen and Jeeves and the Snide Acquaintances. Might Tarpon and Kitchen are also podfics. And welcome.

Welcome! I suggest a few favourites of mine; not necessarily "starters", but incredibly worth reading!

The Rum Situation With Rocky (http://www.pensandpages.net/efiction/viewstory.php?sid=92&chapter=1) by waqaychay, also available as a podbook (http://audiofic.jinjurly.com/rum-situation-with-rocky-audiobook) read by theempress14.

Love Is Blind (http://storyfan.livejournal.com/23322.html) by storyfan, which is just epic and wonderful

The Matter of Mr. Wooster's Headaches (http://skyblue-reverie.livejournal.com/2875.html#cutid1) by skyblue_reverie, the start of her Jooster 'verse.

Hope you'll be happy in here; we're such a friendly lot :D

And if you like the fun stuff, try waqaychay's "Jeeves in Love" series. She's got it all in a neat list on her journal. Six stories in the series or maybe more. Can't remember right now.

I'm hardly seasoned -- I'm only a lurker who's been here about a year -- but I highly recommend:

The Long Road
The Long Long Trail
Jeeves and the Missing Memories
Love Is Blind
Reggie and Wooster
and the fic that got me into this fandom:
Jeeves and the Artistic Versimilitude

Can I facepalm briefly at my confounded ignorance that The Long Road and The Long Long Trail were two different fics?

The thought did occur to me that I put two fics with similar names right next to each other, but I was lazy -- that's the order I put the fics in when I made my recs at [livejournal.com profile] fangirl_tour last month.

Thanks for the link to that site. I'm finding quite a few new things to read with the help of this thread.

It was the Fangirl Tour that led me to the Jeeves and Wooster fandom, so I owe it a lot. There are enough stories recced over the summer to last me throughout the rest of the year.

ALSO ANYTHING BY THIS BASTARD! *points at Blackletter* THIS GLORIOUS BASTARD RIGHT HERE.

For classics, I recommend:
Mr. Wooster and the Restorative Preparation (http://community.livejournal.com/indeedsir/117550.html)

Everything (http://veronamay.livejournal.com/tag/j%26w+fic) by [livejournal.com profile] veronamay

This one isn't a classic yet, but it deserves to be one:
The Code of the Ganymede pt.1 (http://bertiebwriting.livejournal.com/1214.html) & pt.2 (http://bertiebwriting.livejournal.com/1495.html)

There are a number of good fics at Yuletide (http://yuletidetreasure.org/archive/fandom_p_g_wodehouse__jeeves_and_wooster_series.html), too.

For art, everything by [livejournal.com profile] lucylou. You'll have to seach way back in the archives here to find her J/W stuff, though you can see a few pieces here (http://www.lucyknisley.com/galleries/Illustrations/images?page=1). She also writes fics.

I'd recommend her Jeeves and the Psyсhologist, and many other fics as well :-)

I second, or third, or fourth, the rec for Skybluereverie's stories and triedunture's stories. All excellent. From Triedunture, I particularly recommend Jeeves and the Club for Inverts (http://triedunture.livejournal.com/500471.html) and Jeeves and the Uncomfortable Morning (http://triedunture.livejournal.com/413630.html#cutid1) (the first Jooster fic I read, and which I still have a very soft spot for.)

And by bertiebwriting, "What Aunt Dahlia Saw" and its subsequent parts. As soon as I find exact titles of some other recs, I'll come back with more.

Don't forget 'My Man Jeeves' over at http://www.slashfic.co.uk which as far as I know was the first story in the genre.

Welcome! I see that most of the stuff I was going to recommend are already here. I was going to mention 'Love is Blind, 'Jeeves and the Missing Memories', 'The Long Road' and 'Jeeves and the Artistic Verisimilitude' especially.

I also found many lovely fics from this collection.

http://community.livejournal.com/rec50/tag/jeeves+and+wooster:+jeeves/wooster

I loved this one.... "Bertie Wooster, Cryptographer, or The Code of the Woosters, Redux!"
