Decided to go for a walk round London with my parents today and I forced them to do a walk in Mayfair. So we saw Curzon St, supposedly the site of the Junior Ganymede, and Berkely Square (no nightingales, regrettably) and where I deduced the Drones to be (eastern end of Hay Hill, I think). Best of all though, there was a certain shop, pointed out on [profile] daisy_suzuki 's photo-tour, that we found ourselves outside.

And here's Berkely Square Gardens. Because I can.

And Hatchard's has shelves upon shelves of PG Wodehouse - no bookshop where I live has more than three books. Move me in there now!

There's a couple more at my flickr set:

if that's any help.

I saw another branch of Jeeves last week, in Kensington! But sadly, didn't take a photo.

Mayfair *is* marvellous.

I was this summer in London and what do you think was the first place to visit? I made approx. 15 photos of the square and the houses around... But I could walk anywhere in London and I would see the gentlemen from the twenties... It´s a wonderful place to visit :)

I miss London! It's one of those cities that always meets your expectations, no matter what your expectations are. Whatever era you're imagining yourself in, you can find it there.
