Hello my lovely Jooster-friends. Actually this is a rather sheepish and shameful return after many, many months absence. What makes this crime so appalling is that I started 2 fics and never completed either of them.

What can I say? Sometimes real-life hits you over the head. Sometimes you get depressed. Sometimes you just get into other stuff for a while (like this spring I became a total Kish (Kyle Lewis/Oliver Fish) fan, which is slightly embarrassing to admit to those used to Wodehouse's quality of writing). And then sometimes it just gets hard to finish things that you start, especially when you're ridiculously perfectionist.

But I do have something on the way that will perhaps buy some forgiveness. It's the first chapter of The Beginning, a prequel to my What Aunt Dahlia Saw series.

This whole story has come out in a funny order - George Lucas-like, I started in the middle. It's taking the form of a sort of trilogy - the part that's already written when Aunt D. first gets involved, the prequel to all that, and then the conclusion, picking up from where part one left off. Complicated, I know, but that's just how the thing has evolved. So I think we're going to have What Aunt Dahlia Saw, then The Beginning, and finally *Title To Be Determined* - all under the What Aunt Dahlia Saw umbrella, so to speak.

I wasn't going to submit any more to this series until I'd finished writing the whole thing - but I changed my mind on this. It's still not finished and I don't know how much of a gap there will be between chapters - but it's time to just admit that the only way is to get chapters out there when I can.

So - here I am again, and the fic will be posted shortly (in the next ten minutes or so).

So, here it is. I really must say, by the way, that [livejournal.com profile] onedergirl29 beta'd this for me and was incredibly helpful. I might have tweaked it a little since then, but she really was fantastic in pointing out the things that weren't working and offering suggestions to help the whole piece.

Here are links to all six chapters of What Aunt Dahlia Saw (because after all this time I'm guessing it's not going to be at the top of people's minds):

Chapter One
Chapter Two
Chapter Three
Chapter Four
Chapter Five
Chapter Six

Oh, hullo. Didn't see you there.
Not convinced? Okay, I'll get to the point.

So a discussion was in bloom on this post which, we believe, should be opened to the general public (and should be carried on elsewhere rather than loitering in an unrelated post, the more to stop bothering the author of said u. p. ).

The lovely maintainers of [livejournal.com profile] ohidosay  are bright, patient, creative things who have, I'm sure, earned everyone's respect and admiration for the work they put into keeping us primed and porned and overall contented. But I fear a slight miscalculation on the sheer mass of comments for prompts which flooded the community has resulted in its current state of tragic neglect. Our beloved porn prompt is surrounded by overgrown grasses and shrubbery and ensconced in constricting vines. Its formidable appearance intimidates newcomers and gives a headache to those of our number who remember the good old days (really good old 'day', as it seemed the prompt rate went from three to three hundred practically overnight once the thing began).

Attempts have been made on the community by mods and volunteers to amend this tragic loss of a great facility that began with (well, not pure, I mean to say) but progressive, innovative, helpful intentions.

Well, what do we do about it? Brainstorming began on the linked post, but as I mentioned, the thing was recommended to be posted to the masses in general.

I put it to you fine people to aid the brainstorming process, to save our beloved adult meme.
