I have noticed in this community of a theme at Stephen Fry, and I have decided to make to bring the payment.

[livejournal.com profile] thebirdmachine gave me access to facilitate my re-tooling the layout of the community, and this is my first draft. I know it's not glittery, but I thought the sleek, art deco look would go with our boys better. Give me your feedback in the comments, and remember to be specific.

Also, dig the subtle wallpaper, eh?

Cheers, ducks,

  1. No, we cannot go back to the old layout. I already deleted the code before I started making the new one.

  2. I am only taking feedback on the colours, at this juncture.

  3. The ad settings have been changed to show fairly benign categories (i.e. no celebrities, no beauty, no shopping, etc). However, if you have firefox and a little bit of know-how, here is a really quite good ad-blocking add-on for firefox.

  4. Intentionally left blank.

  5. If the font sizes are too big for you, press ctrl and the - key on your keyboard to shrink the text. There are members with vision problems here, so the text is going to stay on the biggish side.

Edits

  1. I'm going to make a wider pinstripe for the bg. This will take a little bit, as my hands are shaking a little from a slight overdose of caffeine.

  2. Making a header requires CSS, and LJ is tetchy about that.

  3. You guys, just make an icon and suggest it! Sillies. XD I can give you the colour codes, just ask.

I have changed the entry field to the darker grey, which gives me leeway for playing with pinstripes. I have also...played with the pinstripes. I like these the best.

The colours I've used (since there has been obvious confusion as to what they are) are as follows:

- A series of dark purples that have a low saturation. The hex coding for them is between 33-77 in all three fields.

- Black

- A light grey and a slightly darker grey. There is no warm or cool tone to these greys--they are the same value across all three fields (d8d8d8 for the lighter, and c0c0c0 for the darker).

Re the icon situation: I will go get all the hex coding for the colours if any iconists want to use the community's colour scheme to make an icon to match.

Thank you all for your feedback. :)

Title: The Birt of Venus the Gentleman. :9
Rating:PG? I mean, there's almost nakedness but...it's quite innocent?
Words: Everyone who doesn't get the reference fails art history! :D
...not really. >3>;

Prompt: "Now draw Bertie naked, covering himself up with a yellow rubber duck."
