The Long Forgotten Wodehouse Kink Meme - Reminder/Pimpage/Info

Hullo!

The lovely Finmagik gave me maintainer/moderator rights on the Wodehouse Kink Meme - OhIDoSay - and I know there hasn't been a lot of activity there lately, but I was thinking maybe folks just needed to be reminded about it. Possibly due to the inactivity, people gave up - understandable - but I'd like to suggest folks toddle over and take a gander at the prompts unfilled thus far, see if they spark your Muses.

rathanylakan had started a filled post and was doing beautifully, but stopped when someone else started tracking the fills, I believe. However, that was on the community toodlepipsigner started up for fills to posted - OhYouDoSayDoYou, but that's not the Kink Meme, so it would still be a useful thing to have if we get more traffic on the Kink Meme.

So, if you've never been there, do have a look; if you have been there and got discouraged, have another look; and if you see anything that a maintainer/moderator can do to spiff the place up, let me know and I'll try.

I'd forgotten about the kink meme.

I'd say do a poll to see if there's interest in reading as well as writing. I've noticed a lot less LJ action in general during the past year, and much less writing and commenting (I'm guilty of both). If only a few people are interested, it might be hard to keep the place going.

The kink list at kink bingo (http://kink-bingo.dreamwidth.org/474292.html) referenced at fan_flashworks so maybe 'meme' was the wrong word.

While a delightful idea - it suffered from the negatives of its own wonderfulness.
Stories became hard to find and hard to read. (Because of the limitations of the scroll-down - not any flaws of the writers or the meme proper)
I wish I could offer a solution. Perhaps some here - brighter and better informed on the web - could have some ideas.

Yup. And I wish I could somehow just transfer everything to a brand new comm. Or delete and redo, etc.
I'm hoping someone pops up with ideas that'll work, but if only a handful of people are interested, it won't be all that much fun - it's best when there's a lot of folks doing it.

Authors can 'claim' their fills and post them elsewhere. I posted my best fill to AO3 and might spiffy up the rest and post those there, too.

You could do a collection on Ao3... that would solve some of the problems people have trying to find the fics to read, since that's indexed.

Also... I read through the stuff on OhYouDoSayYouDo and it seemed that at least some of the 'unfilled' prompts have been taken up in other venues also, so it would be a good time to start up and see if there are new ideas out there.

If I can get a volunteer to help me mod on ohyoudosay, someone who is a little more active (I still lurk on here a bit, but my time is even more limited than it used to be) I think it would help organize things quicker. I used to really comb through the kink meme for fill ins but I saw it was losing luster and more or less stopped working myself. So... Volunteers? Other ideas?

That would be awesome if someone with more time to spend on it felt like doing so! I'm already pushing my internet time envelope as it is. We'll have to see if there's enough interest still, too.
