What ho x3, all! Long-time lurker, first-time poster here, newly indoctrinated into the Wodehouse fandom, but learning as fast as I possibly can (am currently reading "Code of the Woosters" and have recently purchased the entire series in boxed DVDs! Yay!). In this, my timid and halting first post, I put forth a dashed odd observation for your review.

Upon re-watching Season 1 of Jooster with my good friend (and fellow Anglophile) Kris, we had both noticed that Jeeves' (or more correctly, Stephen Fry's) nose is (rather charmingly) crooked.  (My, I'm going a bit overboard with the parentheticals, aren't I? ^_^)  Kris and I jumped to the most logical conclusion, that it was the result of a fight gone awry, but we couldn't for the life of us conjure up a mental image of Jeeves in a fistfight.  Could there be another explanation?

So any takers as to speculations?  How exactly did Jeeves get that endearing slant to his nose?  Brawl with a less-educated ruffian?  Close encounter with a free-swinging door?  Be creative!

Hmm...I can't remember how Stephen Fry broke his nose, but I'm sure that Jeeves would have been doing something heroic, like saving his mistress or master from ruffians or saving a baby.

I am Jack's Green-Faced Envy.

Are there any extras on the dvds? Or is it just the shows?

Stephen Fry fell over in the playground when he was six, I believe. It's in Moab somewhere but I can't find it at the moment.

There's a wonderful quote I read somewhere, possibly Moab, where Stephen Fry said that after the incident, his nose refused to grow straight -- and the rest of him just followed suit. (Paraphrased, of course.)

The DVDs are fantastic, though I would've loved some extras.

I suppose it partly depends on what you think Jeeves's backstory is. I've heard it suggested that he would've made an excellent spy, and one of these days I may have to write the fic (currently lodged in my noggin) wherein his past as a Master Criminal comes back to haunt him and Bertie.

Considering Jeeves's facility with a cosh, it seems only too likely.

Not to mention his habit of carrying Mickey Finns in his coat pockets. WTF?
