unconventionalcourtship is a panfandom challenge based on Dreamwidth that aims to produce fics longer than 1,000 words based on a Mills & Boon/Harlequin novel summary.

All fandoms and pairings are allowed.

This fest runs from March 15th to April 14th 2013.

Oh my goodness, this absolutely tickles me! I can't stop giggling!

I'll definitely join that comm - what a great idea for a challenge. Though I must admit I've never read a Mills/Boon romance, and have no idea what to expect from it. Sounds like it's all the standard romance tropes, what?

I haven't either, although I feel like I should before I set metaphorical pen to paper. I have read other fic based on Mills & Boon summaries, though - and I liked it very much :D

I have read some nearly infinite number of Harlequins (of all stripes) because I was twelve, what did I know!? And that J&W cover there just does me in. Bertie looks so wistful. Reggie looks so... curious? calculating? confounded? Anyway, I hope somone writes a story to go with that cover right there, it amuses me no end. I am a long-time romance-novel reader (Harlequin, Barbara Cartland, Sillhouette, etc etc etc) and I totally love this idea. AND I love that cover/manip!
