[livejournal.com profile] shiplizard's post just before this one got me thinking about this little oddity that I wrote earlier this year. In fact, doing this was part of what revived my latent obsession with Jeeves and Wooster these past few months. This is an excerpt from a game of Werewolf that I played with friends over on Very Serious, the Hyperbole and a Half forum, where I go by Egyptomaniacal. I played as Jeeves and Bertie, and Jeeves was just too damned smart for his own good -- my "team" took out several werecreatures before they finally tagged us for death. I was given the honor of writing my own death scene.

(I was also asked to write the death scene for another character who had become inactive -- that's what the peculiar little coda is about.) If you're interested in slogging through the whole game, the original thread is here

WARNING: CHARACTER DEATH AHOY!

A couple weeks ago, I posted this, promising to report back later with the results.

First of all, we had about THREE Jeeves' at this camp.

ExpandA Tale of Three Jeeves's )

So yes. Reeves and Chaser.

First, some backstory on this world: this game takes place about 500-ish years in the future after humanity has colonized the solar system (and Pluto is a planet again). One of their developments was something called the Final Frontier sentence, the most epically severe punishment the law can met out. What happens is, the person gets strapped in a life support system set to last one year and is then jettisoned out into space, left to drift and go mad until the support system gave out and killed them. Wilbert Chaser (as stated in the other entry) was subjected to this after being falsely accused of assassinating the President of Mars.

Unbeknownst to all, space was home to a brand of magic called Void, which replaced your soul if you went crazy out there, and turned you into an entity called a Soundless. That was before the start of this game.

This is the story of what happened next:

And the moral of the story is:

LARPing is Serious Business. Really. Serious. Business.

I'm pretty sure I mentioned this in a comment on another post.

So, first a little background:

For the past few years, I've been going to this live-action roleplay camp called The Wayfinder Experience. While there, we dress in costumes and grab some foam swords and play Adventure Games that have world background and all kinds of characters. At the end of every year, people are invited to submit their own adventure games to be played at an event in the coming year. Last year, one of mine was picked for Advanced Camp (5 games in 12 days): a mythology game called The Five Moons of Japan. This year, another one of my games, called Space Opera, was picked to be played at another camp. It's about an intrepid space military unit who defies orders to rescue a magical race of Bards from destruction at the hands of evil space demons called the Soundless.

Since I was going through my Britspasm while writing the character sheets, naturally I HAD to have Bertie and Jeeves stand-ins.

Long story short: "Bertie" loses everything in a massacre and joins the mob, is accused of assassinating the President of Mars, and is turned into a soulless space demon. "Jeeves" stays with him the whole time, until he joins the mob and "Jeeves" becomes so ashamed of how far his beloved (yes, they DO have an established bromance) master has fallen that he joins the military in angst.

Here are their actually character sheets:

The game will be played Tuesday night. Wish me luck! I shall report on the boy's fates!

Oh, remember the horror of Jeeves giving notice in Jeeves in the Country? It was awful. Poor Bertie. Poor Jeeves. Thankfully, it all worked out and they reunited. That's not the fate for our Bertie in the multi-fandom rpg [livejournal.com profile] aternaville. There's no Jeeves. We keep calling the damn valet agencies (and rpg-ad sites), and the phone just rings. No answer. None. It's quite. What is Bertie to do?

Request here, that's what.

Aternaville is looking for a Jeeves.

If you're interested, please mosey over to: [livejournal.com profile] mod_aternaville. There you will find goodies like: taken characters, rules, guidelines and such. If you don't want to play Jeeves, but are interested in any other Wodehouse-canon character (or heck, any character) you're welcome to take a look too! We'd love for someone to rescue Bertie -- even Aunt Agatha.

If you have any questions, please, leave a comment.
Thank you,
The Aternaville Mods

Have you ever wanted to take part in an RPG where you could be a Jeeves and Wooster character? Do you secretly yearn to don Bertie's spats, Jeeves' bowler hat, or even Gussie's glasses? Do you think that the stars are god's daisy-chain? Or does your wrath upon nephews rain down like the curse of the Woosters?

Well, wait no more, because [livejournal.com profile] soupy_twist, a multi-fandom Fry-and-Laurie-related RPG, is here!

Read all about it and apply over here.

Hello, I run [livejournal.com profile] wodehouserpg Which should have a better name like Wodecrack and have no skill whatsoever in the area of icons or little mood thingys. So that's why I've come begging. Can some nice person with Photoshop and tons of skill make us some lovely icons? Please?

Also I was wondering who was the person who made the nifty pixelly Jooster icons. With the little Bertie and the little pixelly Jeeves that said things like wastrel. Because those cute pixel guys would be great for mood icons.

Thanks for all your help!

I am on the Verge of starting some kind of Wodeverse RPG. What do I mean by this an PRG based mostly in the Universe of P.G. Wodehouse. I don't just mean Jeeves & Wooster. I mean the whole damn kit & Caboodle. I want to know who is with me!

Or if any good ones exist already.

Further ideas can be found in my livejournal, yesterdays entry though not very well explained because I was ill.

Oh and don't worry I only want to play one Obscure character or two.

What ho all! ...That sounds rather happy, considering that I am here via shameful circumstances. You see, I am guilty of neglecting one poor Miss Madeline Bassett. I play her (or rather did) at Hogwarts Hocus a Harry Potter/multi-fandom RPG. Unfortunately, I haven't been good at keeping up with the RPG at all.

If anyone would like to take over the role of Madeline, please e-mail me! I'll e-mail you back with everything you should know, including the password for Madeline's account. If more than one person takes up the offer I think it's fairest if I choose by looking at some of the things they've written in the past, so please make sure I know your lj alias/website.

Thanks very much!
