I finally got a tablet! I've been practicing and experimenting with it a lot, but have only done one picture so far that I felt was good enough to post. It's just a portrait of Bertie.


This turned out more detailed than I originally intended, but I'm happy enough with it.

Oh, this is excellent! Some things that I love:

- Bertie's slightly coy, reticent expression - very in-character

- His pretty face and floppy hair!

- The wonderfully natural way you have rendered his posture and clothes - the fabric looks just right :-)

Thank you! Glad you like the hair. I've tried to find a compromise between something that looked sufficiently Bertie-ish and something that was simple for me to draw from various angles.

I'm sure. My head canon says Jeeves, because Jeeves is just slightly taller than him and the sort of chap that would always attract Bertie's eye. ;)

Very nice. You started a discussion a while back about how your version of Bertie was shifting around. The last few drawings seem to have leveled out with this fellow. It's interesting to watch people's style change. I like it. I especially like that you've hung on to your usual sepia toned water color flavor with this switch to digital. Anyway, tablets are awesome.

Thanks! Yeah, his image is fairly solidified in my mind now I guess. What's changing now is just my drawing/coloring style, trying to find what works best. I didn't actually want to go with my usual coloring style with this. I meant to do very simple, kind of sketchy coloring, but I always have to really force myself not to get too detailed (and I "failed" at that here).
