We just got back from the record store and my [livejournal.com profile] eor boasted to m,e "MY new album has Stephen Fry on it!" The CD he bought, Kate Bush's new album, "50 Words for Snow" has Stephen Fry credited as playing 'Professor Joseph Yupik.' I haven't listened to it, yet, no idea what it's like, but thought you might be interested. :)

It's absolutely amazing, that's what it sounds like! It's super long, around nine minutes, I think, but it's really fantastic.

I saw Stephen's tweet about it and checked it out on Amazon. Although I could not hear anything with him in it, it sounded good enough to buy it. And I'm glad I did. It's a fantastic album with beautiful piano music, very soothing, and Stephen's bit is mentioning all the 50 words of snow there are.

Later I found out that his name was mentioned twice in a recent Kate Bush interview (Humo, Belgian mag) I had been reading, but hadn't bothered to finish. His name was mentioned in the part I hadn't read.
Kate Bush says about Stephen that she wanted someone whose voice sounded authoritive, yet warm at the same time. :)
