So pretty! Did you use watercolors? Whatever you used, you should do it more often. I love the effect!
The pictures are all adorable, but I'm having a tough time deciding whether the 3rd or the 4th drawing is my favorite...I think #4 wins for the expressions. You're right, it is a perfect example of their relationship. XD
Thank you! I am horrible with watercolors, these were colored with gouaches, much more convenient than watercolors, in my opinion. LOL; it's good that it looks decent, I mean, these colors were just barely slapped on.
Haha! I find it funny how the two least well drawn are the favorites! Although, that happens very often in an artists world.
Whaaaaat? Gouache is awesome! Not thin as watercolor but not thick enough to be acrylics. I love how you can correct mistakes conveniently with layers, which is very hard with watercolors. That's the magic, you can paint layer over layer with thick color.
I used to think it's frustrating! But I've tried to change my attitude, I should be happy people enjoy my art, no matter how shitty it is, as I draw for myself, first and foremost. (except for commissions)
Well, I've read that if you're not really careful painting in layers, you can screw up previous layers when putting on more wet paint. Or something like that. I've have a tube of black gouache for some years now, but I've almost never used it.
Same here. Also it encourages me not to spend too much time/effort on pictures, because the quickly done stuff usually gets the best response. And drawing quickly rather than laboring over it results in a freer image, so I'm coming to consider that a good thing. :)
Really? I've never had that problem. The likelihood that the lower layers will be botched up will be minimal if you wait for the layer to dry before applying another layer. A blow dryer can be an awesome companion while painting :D!
Also, there is the rule that the more personal art is, the less people will understand and like it. Unfortunately. That's why generic animu is so popular, or retarded sparkle disney dogs.
These are really great, my absolute favourite is the first one - it's so like Bertie to run to Jeeves with every little thing, and Jeeves being so serious and tender... Awww. The penguin-chick combination also stole my heart. Adorable. :)
Others have mention this before, but I really like the colouring, too.
By the way, is that what I read a few comments above in Finnish? I mean, it really looks like Finnish to me, but I've been wrong before... Anyway, greetings from Hungary. ;)
