David Mitchell is LOVE!

Incidentally, this makes me so glad to be American! It's not sofa or settee. It's couch :)

Unless it's davenport, which my grandparents employ and I always found quite baffling.

Also, yeah, David Mitchell is awesome.

I'm the last person on earth who still calls it a futon. *sigh* The funny looks you get...

A futon folds out in a particular way -- the back becomes part of the bed.

A sofa-bed folds out the normal way, you kind of unroll it from the inside.

A couch/sofa doesn't unfold at all.

And Kleenex is a specific brand name, but that's still what I call a "tissue". I know they're misused, but they're just what I'm used to. Ty.

He is often on QI which Stephen hosts. He's awesome.

That was a great clip :)

Somewhere lurking on this community is another clip from a show of his called "Mitchell&Webb", of which he is obviously Mitchell. It's a sketch about a man who confuses his butler for his lover and his wife for his maid, and it is perfectly fabulous. Do check it out- I'm fairly certain it's been posted more than once.

I remember seeing that a while back, and I guess I just didn't connect the two in my mind - whoops! It was great though, as I recall.

Ah, the things you can find on youtube. :D

That honestly bothered me the first time I watched the Jeeves and Wooster series. We pronounce it the French way in America (no clue why) and I was French tutor on top of it all; you could hear me gnashing my teeth from the next room whenever the hard "t" cropped up. Of course, that's ridiculous of me because there's obviously no right/wrong way of saying a word, and we Americans are FAMOUS for screwing up anglo words in the first place. I got over it, of course.
...
But I don't get over people calling Jeeves a butler. =]
