Holy cow, I had no idea!
Makes me realize why I like their writing so, though - they do all (along with CS Forester) have that Dulwichian bravura with language in common.

Thanks for posting the link. That was a terrific article. I've read lots of Chandler as well as a ton of Wodehouse, but I never noticed how much their writing resembles one another's.
