The 1920s were relatively good years for homosexuals in New York City. Prohibition brought all kinds and classes to the speakeasies to mingle freely. In this fertile soil, speakeasies called "pansy clubs" catered to the homosexual community, featuring female impersonators and costumed balls where homosexuals could dance together openly. These clubs became so popular that the rich and famous attended to watch the spectacle. In January of 1931, after a gangland shooting at Club Abbey, everything changed.

Thank you! So do I. I can't believe he's *that* innocent. Slightly dim occasionally, but really, he's a guy. Your average guy likes teh smex and will do all kinds of things to have some.

I've always found fics where Jeeves is virginal/really inexperienced to be slightly off on the ooc side of things for me, though some of them are a lot of fun and I do enjoy them. Canon!Jeeves sure seems to know which end is up when it comes to relationships and the physical end of things, though.

Oh, thank you! So many fics in this fandom start with Sekrit Pining that I wanted to do one where it didn't and they actually ended up falling for each other over the course of the tale. It was fun to write.

I'm one of those folks who finds ways to angst even the most comedic of fandoms, given a few minutes and a plot.
