reginaldrobot Happy Birthday and offered to do a fic as a present. I'm embarrassed to say that I've only now finished that present, nearly six months later, but I'm sincere when I say that I meant for it to be much sooner! I was waylaid by the Muse and have been almost entirely eaten up with a big Holmesian project that's only now almost concluded. It's not an excuse to take so long to deliver on a promise, but's it's the reason it happened. Mea culpa, Reggi, my dear - I meant well!
