What? That's not canon?

Clearly this requires a rereading of Wodehouse. Woe.

That's not sugar daddy at all; that's completely the opposite. o_O I'm all confused now.

Using the traditional definition of 'sugar daddy'--meaning, a man at least ten years older and who showers his younger lover with gifts (sugar)? Hell yes. Could someone please write some fic where Jeeves is 10+ years older, as he is usually depicted on book jacket art etc?

I thought about responding with a drabble but 'sugar daddy' is more of an overarching idea, not something that can be illustrated in a short piece.

Words cannot adequately express how much I approve of this idea. ...can Jeeves trade prticularly perverse sexual favors for permission to destroy ugly clothes as well?

"Hand over those suspenders immediately, sir."

"Never! Nothing doing, Jeeves!"

"I shall get the cane, sir."

"....Would you really?"

"I do not bluff, sir."

"...Well, alright then. I suppose it's a fair trade. Here they are, Jeeves."

"Thank you, sir."

"Use the thin one with the loud snap, Jeeves. Or I'll go out and buy new ones."

"Understood, sir."

It is the English Vice, you know. Oh, why don't people do more with Bertie having come from Eton...?

I just realised that, and now I feel sheepish.

I am not sure about that. Bertie isn't grown-up enough to be anyone's Daddy, sugar or not.

That doesn't matter. Age isn't the issue, money is. The point of a Sugar Daddy is that he has money to spend and splurge on a living plaything. And Bertie has the disposition to spoil someone he cares about, or mildly tolerates (wanted to loan money to Chuffy and that guy with the chicken egg scheme).

Eh, I'm going to have to disagree with you. Being a Daddy is about more than money. Your description sounds uncomfortably close to a whore.

That's basically what a "Sugar baby" is. With one client. In this case, a male mistress.

Its not considered prostitution generally, since It's an agreement between individuals and the receiving party is not usually a professional.

Out of curiousity, what did you think it meant for someone to be a person's Sugar Daddy?

Well it was a different feeling with Jeeves as the dominant partner. Really I was emphasising more the 'Daddy' than the 'Sugar'.

Anyway 'arrangements' or courtesans or anything like that really squick me. Too close to home.

Ah, you thought we meant 'Daddy' as in the practice within BDSM? That would work, wouldn't it? They're halfway there, I think Bertie has even referred to Jeeves as an uncle or father-figure in canon.

I always have trouble seeing Jeeves as being submissive. With the two of them, it's either a dominant Jeeves, or they are equals.

And as to whether or not 'Sugar Daddy' is a squick, I think it depends. I mean, technically speaking, up until recent times, all heterosexual marriages were more or less a 'Sugar Daddy' relationship...

Yes, I tend to assume 'daddy' refers to leather. Vanilla versions--especially when you get money involved--squick me the hell out. It's so sleazy. And I don't care if it doesn't squick others--that is not what I meant. I meant it squicked me.

"Come now, Jeeves! How do you expect me to survive lunch with Aunt Agatha without this tie?"

"How do you expect to avoid being asphyxiated by that very tie by the hands of Mrs. Gregson the moment she lays eyes on it, sir?"

"...Jeeves!"

"...forgive me, sir"

"I say, Jeeves. You must really hate this tie, eh?"

"....yes, sir."

"Tell you what, then. I shall agree to never wear it round my neck, if you will concede to wear it round your wrists until I must depart for Hades?"

"Agreed, sir."

"Right ho, then. Off to the bedroom, Jeeves. Clothed as a Greek statue. That is to say, not at all, Jeeves."

*slight quirk of the lips* "As you wish, sir"

JW/Princess and the Frog crossover. Jeeves/*points at icon*/Bertie, for a start. And then we add in Nero Wolfe. Also Lawrence doing his time, getting out, changing his name to Stark and moving to NYC to open a soda shop (prison having changed him into someone much more... ah, interesting). Oh and then there's Amory from This Side of Paradise, he kind of comes in and out as a cameo....

o_O The mind boggles.

Wait, but Bertie reads Nero Wolfe novels in canon . . . so he'd probably flip his lid if he saw Nero Wolfe. That sounds, quite interesting. :)

Random Fitzgerald cameo characters are always welcome!

Bertie and Archie are friends. Wolfe doesn't allow Bertie in his presence except at mealtimes, though he does enjoy the company of Jeeves. Archie, like Bertie, takes dancing very seriously. The two of them met at the Flamingo club.
