Somehow.... somewhere.... somewhen.... upwards of 12 years ago by the look of the boxes.... my father bought the entire Jeeves & Wooster series on video.

I can find no clue as to why he did this, as none of the videos have the slightest appearance of having ever been watched, and as far as I know my father is no raving fan of anything British except their mice. (He likes to repeatedly tell a story of the one time he was ever in London, and spent nearly the entire night drinking in some hotel lobby and watching a mouse scuttle back and forth along the wall.)

We had these things sitting in my basement and I never knew it. And here I thought I was doomed to have seen only one and a half episodes for all of the forseeable eternity.

Well. I'd say my week is all planned out.

Know about it? I have a copy of the script which I drag around with me everywhere I go, and which has been read through and commented on in the margins by at LEAST seven other people. Most of my circle are able to quote extensively from it.

By the way... I feel as if I've seen your name somewhere. We don't seem to have any friends or communities in common but I feel SURE I've heard of you before. Are you a part of any LJ-based RPGs or... maybe you write fanfiction?

I've written two fics but under a different name... I'm on here, and uh... I dunno... but I wish I had your friends, (along with mine! :)) I've got to check out your journal!
I've been thinking about making a R&G mood theme... I've got the caps, just not the time.

As to your above question -- I think books and films bade about them ought to be judged seperately from each other. I love the movie. I love the book. I adore Gary Oldman and Tim Roth -- they're perfect for the roles, they couldn't have done them any better. There are scenes in the play that I like but were left out of the film, and bits of the film you can't get from just reading the play. I'd say they're about equal to me.

You have to see them as cousins not brothers...
Anyway yeah, I feel FINE with the film because it was just the same idea in a different media and I loved it.
I adore Gary and Tim because of it...
