I love my Jeeves facepalm icon, but I didn't make it. Credit has to go to spacemonkeyluvn. I can't make animated icons at all, unless they're just a sequence of a few still frames.
I love your Jeeves facepalm icon, too. :-) Kudos to spacemonkeyluvn!
Animated gifs are hard to do. I have yet to play with creating them from scratch, but I can make them using one of the online sites like Gickr (http://gickr.com/) or Gifninja (http://www.gifninja.com/ConvertVideoToGif.aspx), then open them in Adobe Image Ready (an ancient version) and fiddle with them to get the right number of frames to bring it down to 40kb (the LJ icon file size limit). With video clips, I edit and use filters in Avidemux (freeware) video editing program. (Very easy to use.) For slide-show type icons, I prepare everything in my ancient Photoshop, then use Gickr.
Mind you, I'm much more functional with creating with pencils and paper. Photoshop is very useful, but mostly it just frustrates me.
Aw, thank you. I'm so glad you like my first Jeeves and Bertie one! Please feel welcome to take it, or the one here (my second attempt), and use.
I found Windows Movie Maker to be more like "ragemaker," it was so frustrating and non-intuitive, whereas even I found Avidemux easy to figure out by just experimenting a bit.
You're welcome for the icon, and, oh!, don't I know it about finding icon space! I have so many terrific icons in "the waiting line" on my hard drive.
And, oooh! Another terrific icon you've got there! I've admired that one before when I saw it.
I can't speak for the original commenter, but I didn't mean it in a bad way at all! Basically, the sight of Stephen Fry, shirtless, making a silly face and holding his legs at a jaunty angle, whilst ironing a shirt made my brain go, "WHAT". But it was very much a "WHAT" accompanied by a big grin. But it's just not one of those images that one ever expects to see outside one's own head, if you follow me! :D
I didn't mean that in a bad way at all. I just didn't recognize that as Stephen. I just saw it and thought "oh WAT it's a creepy Jeeves-like man without a shirt on."
O_____O I... I... *fans* But... W-...when?why? Most importantly, HOW HAVE I NOT FOUND THIS. I, for one, love the psychotic look on his face. And I love that someone actually said "OK POSE FOR A PICTURE... WHILE IRONING A SHIRT. MAKE IT SEXY."
Of course, Stephen would take the situation to the wackiest possible conclusion. (And for some reason, whenever I see this picture I imagine he's saying, 'Fancy a Chocolate Hobnob?' in in a Cockney accent. WHUT)
In the National Portrait Gallery in London you can search on special PCs especially for stored portraits of the museum ( or something like this ). Being a geeky tourist I searched for the name "Stephen Fry" - and I got *this* as result.
...
... I presume (!) if you want to you can order a nice shiny poster there.
The Gallery rules! I loved being there. If you go through it from the beginning to the end you see not only a looot of fantastic portraits but "by the way" you also learn the history of the Brits from the Tudors on. :)
This quite blows my lil mind at the mo. Um... Where's the naughty corner? I think I may need a folding chair, I could be there a while. It's... dammit, it's the FACE and the POSE... and the Half Nekkid... and... The idea of, yes, of BERTIE WATCHING FROM OFF CAMERA. *steams gently* *stumbles toward naughty corner, tries not to set drapes on fire*
