A quandry dear fellows and a preview

New member, what-ho everybody.  Anyways, i have a question i must pose.  Since i don't really feel like perusing the whole series (well, maybe i do, but i think writing should be taking up the majority of my time) could someone who does have intimate knowledge of Jeeves and Wooster please tell me how often Jeeves wears gloves?  I remember him wearing leather ones whenever he's outside or driving, but can't quite remember how often he wears white butler-y gloves around the flat or if he does at all.  Help would be appreciated.

Um, as a new member, i'm sorry to say i do not come bearing the gift of a fic quite yet, but i suppose i can give you guys an idea of what i'll soon be bringing to the table.

The Infinite Universes of Jeeves and Wooster - Jeeves and Wooster AU story collection.  Bertie and Jeeves belong together in any way, shape, or form.  A million different universes, but the same enduring relationship.

1. Other Way 'Round - Jeeves is the aristocrat, Bertie the servant.
2. Man's Best Friend - The boys as doggy companions to a blind boy.
3. A Friend in Need - The boys meet as children with Bertie in an unusual circumstance.
4. Equanimity - Jeeves and Bertie are servants together in the same household where trouble brews.
5. Future Tense - Jeeves is a robot, but Bertie begs to differ.
6. Empathy - Jeeves must deal with his master's powerful Grace, while Bertie must deal with a valet that's stuck with him much longer than he ever expected.

Yeah, so these will begin making appearances quite soon, i'd say.  Oh yeah, if you're interested in Holmes slash, i've got previews for some of those future stories on my lj too.  *cough* Yes, so that's it.  If you're excited about what i'm writing, answering my question would be quite beneficial to bally well getting pen to paper, what?

Jeeves wears gloves whenever he goes outside in autumn-winter, I believe. When it's colder, I mean. And when he drives the car.

Jeeves also wears gloves when playing Butler, as that's the proper uniform. White gloves in that case. Not leather, I should think.

Seems to me he wears white gloves when he's serving formal dinners (Brinkley Court) or when Bertie has luncheon or dinner guests at the flat. This is TV canon, but in every uppercrust movie I've seen, the people waiting on tables wear white gloves. You don't see Bertie eating much at home in the TV series (breakfast in bed), and I haven't seen specific references to gloves in the canon stories. But I will admit there are plenty of people better-versed in book canon than I am.

I think i've thought of a better (or more convenient *cough*) solution and just might make gloves a part of the AU-ness. It'll make sense though, don't worry.

Watching the show doesn't matter so much (I only watched it because people mooned on about it so in this community), but I hope you'll read a lot of the stories before you write, because Wodehouse's writing style is considered one of the backbones of modern Englis writing and is just worth trying to imitate for it's own merits.
