First off, triedunture regrets to report the following regarding her entry in Jeeves, Wooster, and the Educational Tour:

(copied from Twitter): "Guys, blanket statement: I am so sorry I dropped the ball on the Jooster challenge. I sucked. Just go ahead without me! *fails at life*"

(I asked her if she could make a formal post here, but seeing as she hasn't yet and the next Educational Tour deadline is coming up...) My apologies if I'm overstepping my boundaries, but I'd hate to see this project to fall through the cracks when it's just getting off the ground!

Second, and I know there have been plenty of posts like this before, but I'm looking for a beta for my latest fic. It covers a lot of things (sexual objectification, a less-than-sane narrator) that I've never written about before and I'd like to get a second opinion before I post it. It's not that long, either. Only about 2,000 words.

Third, I discovered recently that there was NO fanart of Bertie-prototype Reggie Pepper on DeviantArt. So I took the liberty of remedying that. :D

You know, I've been giving the beta stuff some thought because I, too, will need a beta when I'm done working on my current fic. And I thought about the fact that I belong to a comm called betacommentary which is a comm dedicated to people posting their work to have it looked over for any number of things. I thought to propose a similar sort of idea for the Jooster fandom, perhaps, if anyone's interested in it. It's communal editing and authors post what they're looking for help with (character, plot, grammar, spelling, etc). Either that, or perhaps some people who are interested in beta work in general might put their names forth so that those of us looking for a beta would know who to ask? lol, just thinking out loud. :)

Honestly, I'm not sure, but I tend to think that having one that is fandom specific instead of one that is just for all fandoms would maybe encourage participation. lol, but I could totally be wrong, too. :)

Wasn't there a thread a while back about making a list of available betas? I keep trying to get my name on this hypothetical list but I can't recall if anyone ever made it! Cause, yes, I really want to be a beta!! :D

Don't worry - Just make sure you write a nice juicy fic later to make up for it! We all have our different challenges. Mine are kids and software programming. And the fact that I have real problems writing fics to a deadline! I'm quite nervous about the challenge myself.


Don't know what's going on in your life but I hope you'll still have time to read, write, comment, etc. You're an awesome writer and I know I'd be sorry if you disappeared from the community.
