What-ho, my fellow eggs!

Sorry for the off-topicity of this post, but for days I have tried and failed to remember the title/author of a book series that was once mention here on indeedsir. The series in question was a dark humor-ish crime one, with a touch Wodehouse parody (I distinctly remember the original poster using the term anti-Jeeves) and would be absolutely beside myself with joy if anyone could tell me the blasted name once more.

My eternal - or at least very long-term - affections to the one who puts my negligible mind at ease. :)

It wasn't "Wake Up, Sir!" was it? (Probably not, because you're talking about a series and this was just one book)

Actually, I can't speak for it because I haven't read it yet (I do own it, though).

Could it have been Lord Peter Whimsey? Because Dorothy Sayers does occasionally make references to Wodehouse - in Murder Must Advertise, Lord Peter goes undercover and is described as Bertie-like by another character.

Perhaps those are the Charlie Mortdecai books by K.Bonfiglioli.
