I'm a Torchwood fan and a Jeeves and Wooster fan, and always thought that Ianto worked so well because he is a sort of updated Jeeves style character. But never expanded on the idea. That was too funny!!
(*is aware of Torchwood's shortcomings, loves it anyway*)
I know! Then again, if Torchwood is what happens when one of Wodehouse's stories go horribly wrong, things aren't too bad, are they..
Ianto really is a bit like Jeeves' illegitimate Welsh grandchild, isn't he <3
And there's very few shows without any shortcomings. Torchwood's entertaining, there's eyecandy (and not just Ianto), and it's silly enough to work for me.
I can only imagine Jeeves feeling like he has to save Jack from whatever mess Jack's in. And man, Jack flirting endlessly with Jeeves just to ruffle his feathers (with a good helping of Bertie being jealous, of course).
