The Book People are doing ten Jeeves & Wooster books for £9.99! *blissful grin*

If they haven't sold out by tomorrow, I'm placing my order. They do ship to outside the UK, but they charge something like £12 for it so I don't know if it's worth it...

You get:
  • Jeeves in the Offing
  • Stiff Upper Lip Jeeves
  • The Mating Season
  • The Code of the Woosters
  • Carry on Jeeves
  • Much Obliged Jeeves
  • Aunts Aren't Gentlemen
  • Right Ho, Jeeves
  • Thank You Jeeves
  • The Inimitable Jeeves
I've already got a couple of 'em, but since my copy of The Code of the Woosters has mysteriously vanished (all I'm saying is I lent it to my dad and haven't seen it since) and anyway, this gives me an ideal opportunity to force I mean encourage my friends to read them by giving them my duplicates, I don't really mind.

Oh man, if I lived in the UK I would be all over this.

hmmm, the website says they ship overseas, but no option when filling out the address form. I shot them an email, let you know if it's possible when I find out.

From the "delivery restrictions" page:

Overseas delivery
The Book People are unable to offer overseas deliveries, due to cost restrictions imposed by our carriers.

We do offer an overseas delivery service for BFPO (British Forces Post Office) addresses.

Blah.

Forgive me for being slightly off-topic, but is that Bertie getting pushed over a bridge in your icon?

Nope, it's a sketch from A Bit of Fry and Laurie. It's their version of the story where a person wishes they'd never been born and then get shown what the world would be like without them. I tried to find a YouTube clip for you but I can't remember what the story or sketch is called.

Hugh's body language and expression do resemble that of his Bertie's, though, don't they? :D

The story/movie is "It's a Wonderful Life."

Also, his clothes.

Thank you so much for the tip!

Doesn't anyone have local libraries? Membership is free, you know. ☺

Oh, I am sorry! I suppose I forgot what it's like to live in the country, having grown up there. It's different in the city.

I once saw a book exchange site online where people could recycle their books for a very low price or exchange them. I can't remember much about it, but I do recall its members love books and want to share the books they enjoyed with others. It isn't just book exchange, it's reading enthusiasts helping each other.

Perhaps you could find something like this in your area, or even Ebay or Amazon UK or the like? I have found books on Amazon UK that I could not get anywhere else, and the postage was surprisingly reasonable. Of course, we're Commonwealth, so that may make a difference. The postage costs from the USA are so extremely high that I take one look at them and flee.
