Since it seems to just pop up in discussions and what have you... How do you lot feel about Bertie and Jeeves in drag? Just gauging reactions and tastes, you know ^^

Also. Does anyone have any drag fics to recommend or just link me to? I just read [livejournal.com profile] storyfan's Jeeves and the Agony Aunt, anyone got any other drag stories? I guess anyone seeing Mr Fry appear as an American novelist must develop something of a liking for drag!Jeeves :P

Cheers!

and i'm planning on a drag fic of my own pretty soon, too. in the meantime, though.... there was a lovely fic called "a night on the town" or something like that, but i can't find a working link now. anyone else know it?

Only the oft-mentioned [livejournal.com profile] purplefluffycat's Artistic Verisimilitude (http://community.livejournal.com/indeedsir/303747.html) and a shortie by [livejournal.com profile] youofwales's The Proposal (http://community.livejournal.com/indeedsir/110521.html) with crossdressing Jeeves immediately come to mind.

The drag bit must be the only wildly AU scene the fourth season's ripe with that I wholeheartedly admire; Fry looks sensational as a woman. Laurie not at all, in my opinion; he wouldn't make a remotely believable/attractive lady, - however, Bertie might, by all means.

Yet I think it's the opposite. :) I think Hugh Laurie plays a woman more convincingly than Stephen Fry. I am looking at A Bit of Fry and Laurie as well. There's this one sketch about a get well card in which Hugh Laurie is absolutely fantastic as a woman.

Oh yes, I totally agree with you! I just adore this sketch and I remember thinking while watching it 'Oh, Hugh is so-o cute as a lady here!' :-))
And Georgina in Blackadder! I love her! :-)

Gorgeous Georgina is adorable, just 'not my type', so to speak, I guess. Still very much a man in drag.

There was also a drag scene in purplefluffycat't another jooster Secret Locked Diary... (the third story Mr. Wooster and the Christmas Surprise) where Bertie is wearing corset, stockings, long gloves and high heels :-)

I have nothing against Bertie or Jeeves drag, although personally I have a thing for 1920's/30's mens clothes and find them quite sexy enough on their own; I know, I'm weird. I do seem to remember a Bertie crossdressing fic that was fairly recent. Recent enough that I can recall it at least. I don't know the name of it or the author though, but you've interested me and if come across it I shall sound the alarm.

I think you are not weird at all or then I'm weird too as I think today's mens clothes are not nearly as hot as what they were back then. *Mmm, top hats*

Jeeves in my mind looks like Mr. Fry, meaning that drag = yes, please!

Jeeves or Bertie in drag is very much a yes.

With yes sauce.

I agree about Jeeves (in the series, meaning Stephen) in drag being very VERY attractive >3

I really don't like drag. It annoys me on several levels.

the fic sige_vic is refering to is here: http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/44/anextract.html (An Extract from the Rather Fruity, Secret Locked Diary of B. Wooster Esq. - SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME HOW TO DO PRETTY LINKS IN COMMENTS) like mentioned, drag is to be expected at the final instance.

Do I mind drag? Not when Stephen pulls it off so well. I don't remember any drag in Artistic Verisimilitude, but it is fantastically good.

I was recently re-re-re-rewatching 'Major Star' and I think Georgina pulls off a woman pretty well at times (not always), but I have a theory that Melchett knows and just uses it as an excuse to spend some romantic time with George. Stephen as Daphne is miles better than Hugh as Beryl or in clips I've seen from Boffle.

I'm all about the gender bending, so drag is a-ok with me. :D
I do, in fact, have my own twist on the drag story up my sleeve, but my sleeves being so dastardly long and maze-like, I'm not making any promises on having it completed in this lifetime.
