I love me some Gussie.

So I wrote a little drabble from his point of view.

I'm playing around with trying to get into Gussie's character, really just for fun.

So here is, for your enjoyment/disgust/critique/utter destroyment of, is my Gussie drabble.

Here's hoping that LJ will stop being a silly goose long enough to let my LJcut it.

 How I Wish
      

      

Newts are fascinating creatures. Clever little beasties – no marriage, no nightly dalliances, no impressing relatives – just a fancy tail trick and little shake (frightengly similar to that dance the Drones have been so fond of as of late) and there – mates! Simple little lizard lovers.

Not anything like this business with Madeline! Oh, what a darling thing…a smooth triturus alpestris, a lovely notophthalmus viridescens. She’s beautiful….

How I wish we were newts! I’d just slither on up and shimmy! shake! kapow, instant mate!

Thinking about Madeline makes my stomach do little flip-flops – as I imagine does the stomach of every chap lucky enough to cast his eyes on her….

How many times must I wish for life as newt? Simple life, my lucky newts have.

You are def. on to something. Gussie makes a habit of talking about newts all. the. time. So, very well done including the Latin.
