A friend recently made me aware that the university library (Oslo) has several shelves dedicated to Wodehouse somewhere down in the basements. Oh joy! I didn't have time to take any of the books home with me, and I've already got all the Jeeves omnibuses (wonderful things), but I saw a book there called "Gentlemen Wearing Spats" or something along those lines.

Does this sound familiar? Has anyone read it? I think it was a collection of short stories about the Drones members, or something. I think I'm going to go back for it, and pronto.

That's the chap ^^ I went back today and borrowed it; now I'm going to read it as soon as I finish the Norwegian children's book I'm currently reading :) Will keep you posted!

I've read it! ...A good few years ago, mind, but it was pretty good. I think it was the first Wodehouse book I read. There were some good stories in it, though.

I don't know how your copy translated, but the Drones members were nicknamed Eggs, Beans and Crumpets. The meaning of this was never explained. It could possibly be the modern (early 20th century) of Regency and pre-Regency Macaronis, Bucks, Corinthians etc, but I'm only guessing.

It's amazing how much I know about all this nonsense, but that's what happens when I have to read everything I can get my hands on. :)
