Off Topic, My Apologies
Feb. 9th, 2009 08:52 pmI won't take up too much of your time. If this post is way too off topic, please take it down and burn it somewhere.
I thought, in light of the majority of the fiction here, a few of you would be interested in adding your name to the list of supporters for overturning prop. 8 in California.
Here is a link.

And if not, then tell me where to get off!

Date: 2009-02-10 03:10 am (UTC)Here's the thing-- you may hate the decision on Prop. 8, but at least we're able to speak out against it and fight it. I'm disappointed in the California vote, but I'm glad that I'm free to let my anger be known.
Online petition are often have no legal impact. If you're interested in working to overturn the decision, you might want to look in your town/city/state for grass-roots movements that will have a bigger/ more specific impact. If you don't have any organization or movement where you are, you can definitely write to your congressional folk.
Just keep having a voice, because sometimes it can make the biggest difference.

Date: 2009-02-10 03:59 am (UTC)I think that the whole Prop8 thing was a travesty. I usually really like living in CA because it's fairly liberal, but that's been eroded lately and this shows it plenty!
