Shall I jump right in?

I've been into anything with butlers or valets playing a major part for as long as I can remember. So when I came across Jeeves and Wooster - I don't even recall how I stumbled across it - I fell in love. Now, I've only read a few of the books, but I adore what I have read.

ANYWAYS, I was looking sat a butler school in the Netherlands, trying to find a good place to get a start. Yeah, i really want to get in t service. In my quest to get into the s. I came upon the school in the Nethelrands, and they gave some links to butlers, valets, and such related items.

Imagine my delight when I scrolled down the film and TV section and found Jeeves and Wooster. The books are mentioned in their appropriate section, as well.

I've been lurking for a couple days, so i thought I might as well post. I promise a more entertaining post next time!

All things smacking of Jeeves give me the happies. Something about the utterly smooth, dignified surface with hints of yumsome depths below just makes for... ahem... well... I'll stand by "wriggles of delight".

Yep.

Uh-huh.

Ironically enough, once you graduate, you may have better luck getting work in America. We have more of the type of wealthy people that want 'staff', wherehas, elsewhere, it has largely gone out of fashion.

It seems strange that America is the place that has a stronger class system, and my patriotism barely allows me to believe it, but more than one Englishman has made the observation. One of those Englishmen happens to be Stephen Fry, and I rather trust his judgment.

Why am I picturing some strange mixture of MIB and Butlering School Graduation? "Put it on, lad...the last suit you will ever wear."
"Very good, sir."

Welcome to the community! You have an unusual career ambition there, but good for you. Best of luck with it.

Thanks for the link you posted. I thoroughly enjoyed reading the summaries and following up a few of them. Remains of the Day was a great film. Now I want to see Clue. I had never heard of the board game until a weekly series was introduced some years ago. But the butler should be called Black or Grey to fit the pattern!

Glad to see they mentioned Blackadder as well - though if I had aspirations to be a butler, I wouldn't model myself on him.
