Hello, people! Happy New Year!
I've been lurking around these parts for quite some time now and reading the wonderful fics you've all been posting. Well done! I am a huge fan of the fandome and am enjoying myself immensely. Thank you!
If I'm breaking any rules with this post I apologize. Feel free to delete it if it doesn't belong here. I thought I'd risk it because there's this fics that's been driving me insane for day now - I remember reading it some time ago, but no matter how hard I try I can't seem to find it anywhere nor can I remember what's it called. Here's what I do remember:
It's a Jooster fic, of course. Bertie is in love with Jeeves and tries telling him, but J. misunderstands and(this bit's a bit hazy)thinks that Bertie's just coming out. Then they go to some sort of a gay club together and Jeeves finds a boyfriend or a lover and Berties heartbroken and remains to be so for the rest of the fic till Jeeves gets a clue.
Does any of this rings any bells?
Thanks in advance everybody. I appreciate all the help.

Welcome to the community! I'm afraid I don't know the fic that you seek, but from the description, I'd love to read it if some clever soul manages to find it!

ARGH I know this fic! Bertie also buys Jeeves a watch fob and, and, and then there's a dinner date but it all goes wonky...

Think, brain, think! *taps on skull* Hold on! I'm on a laptop that doesn't have my bookmarks and such, but I WILL find you this fic!

Oh, dash it. I'm beginning to think this story was housed only at the now-defunct Cotillion. I could have sworn it was in the Rec 50 table (http://slytherin-gypsy.livejournal.com/38960.html) but I don't see it there. Can anyone else help?

*delurks to dramatic music*

Have been seaching for said fic on the rec table, the group archive, Cotillion (the parts the wayback machine had archived) and I'm sorry to say, came up empty handed. I think it was an external link and rather difficult to find, but I do remember reading it, so we're either three people sharing a hallucination or it was real.

Actually...I'm pretty sure it was archived on Cotillion.

Right, I HAVE to do my homework, so here's the directory of Cotillion (it's a slash archive which has gone kaputt) you can go through the folders, author by author and open the stories in text format. That's as far as I got...sorry.

Careena -> this folder for example contains Cornette's Twelve Pager which is Jooster

Happy Digging!

DEAR GOD I WANT TO READ THAT.

... and eh... what's "Cotillion"? *prepares to be hit with rocks and being boo-ed*

Oh, don't be so fretful. It was a wonderful repository of Jooster that went kaput sometime this year, and it really was disappointing. But look, that nice, clever person above has provided a link that we might us to peruse all those tasty fics. *point point*

Oh, stop it. Uhm, actually if someone finds all Jeeves and Wooster stuff and would link to the respective folders I'd be ever so grateful, for a whole week in fact.

OK, here's what I'm going to do with my lazy evening. I'm gonna start at the top and work my way down. If anyone wants to help by starting at the bottom and working up, let me know. Yay, compiling!

I'm going to spend a few spare minutes seeing if I can't whack up a script that will at least sort out all the J&W fics.

Ohhh, please let me know if it works out. This is very tedious, going through by hand.

VBS is installing GLACIALLY (I usually only use it at work), but with a combo of Down-Them-All and windows' file contents search, I got through Author Baranduin, and found 23.txt, 95.txt, and 98.txt as the only stories containing the word Jeeves.

Oh, I dunno if that's working out so well then. So far I have 94, 95, 96, 98 and 131.txt. Weird.

Yeah, I don't doubt I'm missing some downloads.

Starting from bottom I got 1902 & 2020. Last I checked was Tokimaru.

OK, I think I'm done through the whole list...but I was mostly relying on my imperfect memory of authors' names. If you find more than I got collected, let me know!

I've only found sine_que_non 767, frinkled_stardust, Timmeryn, MechanicalJewel and Careene and *claps wildely* I can't believe you went through the whole liste in that short time.

Hmmm, I believe sine has fics available on LJ now. gah! Must...update...list!

High five for teamwork!

Yep, that's Eric. Is that Hugh Laurie in your icon and if...what happened to his face? What weird expression is that? *stares amazed*

It's all thanks to the Wayback Machine which randomly archives websites, really. It can be found here http://www.archive.org/web/web.php and comes in dashed handy sometimes.
