this is a day late for christmas, yeah. =( i SUCK at being indeedsir's stand-in fanartist when lucylou's not around. she better come back soon!

my plan of making two figures with a cartoonish resemblance to hugh & stephen failed, woe. oh well, that is the best sprig of mistletoe i have ever drawn.

the whole thing is very wallpaper-able, if anyone wants it, btw.

okay, i actually have a theory even apart from the fact that the person who originally requested the picture asked for him to wear it: bertie didn't get him to wear it, he did it on his own, as one of his surprise expressions of cheeriness (i'm thinking like his NY romp in the television series). also, it endears him to small children, and bertie is probably somewhat disconcerted by it. maybe even someone tried to make bertie wear it and he refused.

"It is a santa hat, sir. To bring a bit of Christmas cheer into the house."
"You're not going out like that, I hope."
"Actually, sir, with your permission, I was just on my way to the grocery shop. It is my opinion that minor details such as this hat will add to the holiday spirit. I am told young children especially are very receptive to jocundity of this sort."
"Jeeves, I have never seen you jocund in your life. Not for that matter jolly, peppy, chirpy or gay. You have the singularly stiffest upper lip in all of London."
"If I may say so, sir, that is one of the desiderata of the trade."
"Well, I still don't see why you should. You look positively loony."
"Yes, sir."
"What do you mean "yes, sir"?"
"I meant, sir, that Christmas time is one of the only occasions where one can go out in a red Santa hat, sir, and look, as you say, loony."
"Well, stands to reason, doesn't it, what?"
"Indeed, sir. Now if you will excuse me, Mr and Mrs Little have announced their intention to spend the holidays in London in the company of friends. You, sir. And there are still some minor purchases that need to be made."
"So you're really going out in that hat, are you, Jeeves?"
"Yes, sir."
"Oh, all right then."
"Thank you, sir."
"In fact, I think I'll join you for part of the way and ankle round to the Drones club."
"Wearing that hat, sir?"
