Planning on stealing a bunch as soon as I pay for my Ludwig II's Birthday Present to Myself (i.e. a paid account). I ADORE that picture of Bertie looking plaintively up as Jeeves hands him one of his tinctures. Adorable. Might make my own "dead image tag" one..."This icon offends Jeeves' finer sensibilities". Something of that nature. Yee.
Where'd you get that drawing of Bertie hiding behind the couch? It's new to me.
Through the wonders of Google (http://www.cd.edirectory.co.uk/cd_megastore/pages/moreinfoa.asp?pe=BEIAAIGQ_+PG+WODEHOUSE+Jeeves+Collection+6tps&cid=1668), naturellement.
No, I named my computer Simon. It is the actual Ludwig II's birthday on Wednesday. You know, crazy fairy tale-obsessed king who built a lot of castles, totally fangirled Richard Wagner, surrendered to Prussia, and eventually ended up drowned in an ornamental lake with his doctor?
Ludwig II is probably top of my list of historical lunatics, mainly because I identify with him way too much than I should.
Definitely. Yup. The box would have served as a sort of surrogate womb for the foetus computer. The second you plugged him in at home, he started breathing.
BWA! Proof that my mom and me have the exact same kind of cerebellum:
Mom: Do you realise we've had this car for a year now? Me: Really? We should sing happy birthday. Mom: Well, his birthday was a month ago, I got him in July. Me: But that wouldn't be his birthday. Mom: No, I suppose not. His birthday's when his first owner started him up for the first time. Me: [having an incredible case of déja-vue] Of course. Mom: And Renault would be his mother, of course, since "she" made him. Me:... this is getting freaky.
Well, they say insanity is hereditary... you get it from your children.
*giggles and runs away*
OH!!! But first - THANK YOU!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm so ashamed, but... my tape player at home died from lack of use years ago, and I didn't realize it, so I never got to do more than play a couple of snippets of that wonderful tape of My Fair Gamgee that you made me. So, I was getting ready to drive the 3-4 hours to Chicago on Saturday and saw the tape that had popped up recently in some unpacking and took it along. YOU'RE INCREDIBLE!!!! I can't believe you read the whole thing! (well, almost - what happened to the end? *L*!) I mean, I don't think you took a break or anything - and reading in another language! Really, you were astoundingly great - you sounded just like the guy who read The Da Vinci Code (the first book I've ever heard on tape, which I also listened to in the car recently). *APPLAUDS*!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you so much - you have no idea what a great gift that was. *S* I'm sorry it took me so long to appreciate it fully; I hope better late than never! *S* (((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((tootsiemuppet))))))))))))))))))))))))))
*L*! Duck and Bertie = OTP! *G* And I love the couple of icons with the "conversations" between Bertie and Jeeves. And the "raspberry" ones. And, of course, WWJD? *G*
I'm a newbie and I've been going through the archives of the community (I have no life >.<) Anyway, I saw that there were icon on this post, but they are all broken links! *wibble* I don't suppose these icons are posted anywhere else?
