So...I just wanted to pop in and say hi this fine morning, and thank all of you who just got me hooked on a new slashdom about 5 hours ago...I haven't stoped reading since, and will likely have something in the form of fic tomorrow if the House bug doesn't jump up and bite me again, considering that I'm currently right about where the show is set...but I've also got the complete Jeeves and Wooster with me, and only season 3 of House....so I'm thinking J&W migh get a nice little oneshot over the course of tomorrow, as it's all the fun of Hugh Laurie slash (I swear that man picks things to be slashable...) but with a companion I can write better. 

But just wanted to say thanks to all of y'all for getting my brain going with Jeeves/Wooster fic, and getting me hooked on the fandom. 

Movie rec for Hugh Laurie fans

I don't know if this movie has been mentioned before, so sorry if I'm saying stuff that's already been said - but since it's New Year, it's worth mentioning. 

If you want a nice New Year's movie with Hugh Laurie, check out Peter's Friends - he's not the main character, exactly, but his acting is awesome. I understand that the movie isn't everyone's cup of tea - though I love it, personally - but it really is worth watching for Hugh Laurie alone, especially if you're trying to write a story with a more sober, sad kind of Bertie Wooster, and have nothing but the grim Dr. House to turn to for inspiration. When this movie came out it was the first time I saw him as a non-comedy character. Most of the time when a comic guy does a more tragic role, I can't shake off my former image of them and keep expecting them to say something funny - not so with Hugh Laurie. He was just heart-breaking.

Just through I'd throw that in. You've probably all seen it, come to think of it.
