Intro and Drabble
Aug. 20th, 2004 03:28 pmWow! It's Jeeves and Wooster slash! I've been following the journal for a while and finally worked up the courage to post something. Anyhoo, I've been a devoted Wodehouse following since the beginning of summer (book and TV) and a slash fan for longer. I just love the chemistry between Jeeves and Wooster both in the book and in the TV series. BTW, I just got the complete DVD boxset from A&E! *YAY!*
That said, Wodehouse's writing style is so infectious that I started writing a Jeeves/Wooster fanfic (my very first!) over the summer. It's a monstrasity that now spans 20 written pages and I haven't even got to the climax yet. I was hoping that some of the more seasoned writers could help me beat a plot into shape. Let see, so far it involves a cat, Biffy and Jeeve's niece, Bertie's unwanted ardent American admirer, Aunt Agatha trying to pair Bertie off again, and maybe random communists here and there. Oh MY! Plus I never paid any attention to grammer and stuff in school.
And now... my first J/W drabble! (as a bribery of sort)
“But.. but.”
“And stop blithering!” Aunt Agatha, she who eats glass during full moon, has a scowling face that could cow a lion. I was justifiably relieved to close the homestead door behind her.
I turned around, faced the quiet dignified figure of Jeeves and regarded him in silence. “Well Jeeves…” I thought of a suitable start to the conversation.
Thanks to Jeeves, Bertram is once again, an unwelcome presence in yet another household of the noblesse with a charming but definitively strange young daughter of matrimonial age. I say strange, because the girl always seems to catch a terrible case of the giggles every time Jeeves and I stand together. And when we undertake our usual evening walk, I caught sight of said young person peeking through the window curtains at our retreating backs.
“So.. Jeeves,” I begin again while he stood there waiting for the young master’s words to tumble through his suddenly dry throat.
I took to looking at my scenery for inspiration but everything is exactly where it should be and the place just looked so dashed homey. It’s dashed difficult to tell a chap off when everything is so right.
“Sir, if I might be of assistance,” said chap piped up.
I looked up from my current survey of the floor, spotless as always and realized that Jeeves was standing decidedly closer to me than before.
“Jeeves?”
“Don’t close your mouth sir.” Was the last words out of his mouth before it was firmly pressed to mine; there was a tongue involved in there somewhere don’t you know. Though usually a dead duck in these situations, this time, I gave back as good as I got. My previous thoughts evaporated from my mind and all I could think about was ‘Golly’. What?

Date: 2004-08-20 08:57 pm (UTC)Bwee! Why do I feel such a strange affinity for the strange young daughter of matrimonial age? Hmmm... <3
Definitely put a smile on my face! I wish I could help you with the fic, but I'm not a writer at all. I read a whole lot but only rarely write. I still want to help, though...
Oh! And welcome! *L* Do post often. I've been haunting this community like mad, lately.
