[identity profile] rainfire-dancer.livejournal.com posting in [community profile] indeedsir_backup
What ho my lovelies,

This is a post of many parts (like Joseph's Coat of Many Colours, only...not).

1. *guilty look* I hate to intrude, but might I enquire if anyone has the J&W opening theme in a convenient mp3 format? It would brighten up my mornings a good deal to listen to it on the way to the textbook loonybin, I mean, school.

2. Due to discussion of Raffles and other non-Wodehousian things in my last post, would anyone here be interested if I started a community for discussion/fic/art/meta/love of Raffles, Biggles, books by George M. Fenn, Angela Brazil and assorted other pre-1945 British slashy literature?

3. Fic is coming. Soon. I promise.

4. Concerning Wodehousian (an adjective which I'm currently addicted to) femmeslash, does anyone slash the dangers to men and beasts, or at least Jeeves and Bertie's gay and debonair relationship women in the books? Me, I'm partial to Florence/Madeline and Florence/Honoria, for some reason.

5. Finally, I bring screencaps; I thought it would be fun to have a caption competition of sorts. I took these rather suggestive/amusing screencaps, and wondered what kinds of captions you'd all come up for them, as exams have killed whatever funny I possess :(

So, caps!

(I'm sorry they're so flippin small, but LJ hates me today.)

Feel free to grab, yoink, gack, force to be icon-shaped, add text, or dance the jitterbug with these screencaps. :)

Cheers my dears and tinkerty-tonk,

Eli :D

For the second cap:
Jeeves: Now sir, this is how we come *out* of the closet...

For the last one:
Jeeves: Now if you go this way and I lean the other way, we should just be able to fit in the wardrobe without making too much mess.

I wouldn't wish Florence on anyone, personally! But I wouldn't be surprised if Honoria had a thing with Daphne (or whatever that friend of hers was called in Jeeves Takes Charge), at least in the TV series. That whole "let me show you the things I've shot" line is a classic come-on.

2. ) Ooh, an excuse to wear my pimp hat. ;)

The Vintagefic (http://www.livejournal.com/community/vintagefic/) community might serve your purposes for the time being, but it tries to be set before 1939, not necessarily 1945. At any rate, it's an interesting community to check out with a lot of good rare fic, although that should not stop you from forming your own interesting and vibrant community.

It's a delight to be of assistance, you lazy young devil (it's an honor to meet you at last!) Hopefully the community will benefit from your enthusiasm and UPDATE occasionally. ;)

Psssh, heavens no. I just enjoy weird old fic. I only wish that more people posted to it, though; what's there is good, but it only updates about once a month.

While I've got the pimp hat -- how about the House/Wilson Fic Exchange? (http://www.livejournal.com/community/hw_exchange)

I've actually never seen 'House.' I've read some fics, anyway, and might lurk and read more, but I'd be unable to write anything.

Caption for #3 -
Jeeves: Whipped cream...chocolate...condoms...lubricant... Have I forgotten anything, sir?
Bertie: Hmmm... Oh, wait - silk scarves!
Jeeves: I thought we might use your new ties, sir.
Bertie: You've never liked those ties, have you, Jeeves?

Well, there's Wooster's School for Wayward Girls (http://www.yuletidetreasure.org/archive/6/woostersschool.html), which posits Florence/Madeline.

I've got to say, I quite like Florence as a character. She's arrogant and controlling, but I don't think she's fundamentally a bad person. Hideously, horribly wrong for Bertie, of course. But there are indications that she really does care about him, if in an incredibly misguided and obnoxious, Agatha-like way. Hardly anyone is actually evil, in Wodehouse.

I do have to add, however, that series-Honoria, in episode 1? Was so getting it on with Daphne Braithwaite.

For caption 2:
"what on earth are you doing in the closet Jeeves?!"
"One could ask Sir the same question."
"Eh?"
*Ahem*

For caption 3:
"Yes Sir, seven calls for your... services came today. One form Sir Michael, one from Lady Dorrington-"
"What I want to know Jeeves is who bally well started that rent-boy rumour!"

Lovage for all icons,
-K
