I'm in need of a little help, guys. Does ANYBODY know where I can buy the complete series of Jeeves and Wooster. UNDER 100 american dollars, preferably? I only have so much spending money and I'm really desperate to get my hands on the complete box set! Help? Anybody? *huge green puppy dog eyes* I HAVE COOKIES!?

deepdiscountdvd.com. And apparently if you type "SUPERSALE" into the code box, you'll get 20% off.

I was going to suggest DeepDiscountDVD.com as well. They have it for 77$ (http://www.deepdiscountdvd.com/dvd.cfm?itemID=ANE070585).

I bought mine for about 150$... but then again, I've had it for a year or two... so... *shrugs*

£26.99 which is like 50$ and the shipping to America isn't bad. I got mine a few days ago ^__________^

If it is the same set from amazon.co.uk, then it is region 2. However, VCL will play region 2 on a region 1 computer. Also, the CyberHome CH-DVD 300 (about $40 at Walmart/Target) can be set to either region with a few button presses.

If you don't know, then it is better just to stick to region 1 (US).

For US poeple playing R2 DVDS
. You can crack your current dvd player (if possible)
. Convert it to R1 (you have to have DVRs, some programs, and a DVD burner)
. Buy a regionless dvd player

The Cyberhome (35$ on Amazon.com) is the cheapest, but I bought the Philips DVP642 DivX-Certified Progressive-Scan DVD Player (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000204SWE/sr=8-1/qid=1149912606/ref=pd_bbs_1/102-0525923-1352142?%5Fencoding=UTF8) which is 58$, but includes free shipping, can play avi, etc files, and has better reviews. It's reallllly lovely so far :)

It can be set to either region, but I've heard that can only be reset a couple of times, and then it will stick in one region or the other.

My DVD player? I've reset it at least ten times and it has never stuck. I know that the DVD player on the computer can only be reset 5 times and then it stays, but the DVD player attached to the TV can be changes as many times as needed.

Okay, that must be what I heard, the ones on the computers.

Yeah, I got my set from Amazon UK after I found out that my DVD player's region could be changed. It's criminal that even with international shipping and the shitty pound-to-dollar exchange the DVDs would still be cheaper coming from the UK.

I also happened to like the packaging better. Slender, grey, and when you open it up, it has oval pictures on either side, one of Wooster and one of Jeeves. It reminds me of one of those folding picture frames.

what annoys me is that it called Jeeves a butler :(

Yeah, that is a bit disappointing. I solve that by never reading the back cover. It's not like I don't know what the DVDs are about. ;0)

Yeah, the packaging was a big selling point for me in my tiny dorm room.

I'll warn you now once you're able to play Region 2/UK dvds( by going to Wal-Mart and buying the Cyberhome CH-300 for around $35 or downloading VLC for free)... you *will* develop a serious addiction to Amazon UK. I got a credit card with the sole purpose of using it on Amazon UK.

Seriously, Amazon UK has the best price for a brand new box set anywhere. And, every time I've bought something from them it's always less than what the price they advertise it as... plus they often have sales if you buy two different but related box sets (such as J&W plus A Bit Of Fry & Laurie), you save even more per set. Plus, the Region 2 J&W is prettier and more compact.
The only downside being that you'll have to either buy or download something to play it on, but this is where the future addiction comes into play onces you have that ability to indulge in BritComs.

As far as Region 1/US goes, as they said above, I've seen it on DeepDiscount and they have it for $80-something over on Half.com. The few times I've seen J&W in an actual store, they've been insanely pricey.

You can get the mega set (region 1, all seasons) from Amazon.com for around $66 from the Market place.

The seller is good, I bought season 2 and it's excellent.

I got my all-series box set from HMV (UK) for £25 as a half-price deal a couple of months ago. It's region 2 but if that's OK it's worth checking if HMV still has an offer on. Btw my version has no extras, not even episode titles.
