I lurk a lot, and made an appearance a while back, methinks. But it was quite a bit ago, so all-in-all not a memorable deal. Hello again, then!

The topic for a research paper I'm doing is Wodehouse's humor--(a topic I had to fight for, seeing as how my good for nothing teacher had never heard of him!)--and I was wondering: What do you all consider to be Wodehouse's funniest book? Doesn't necessarily have to be a J&W, (although I'm certainly partial to them and all that delightful innuendo).

Thanks a bunch for your help. XD

Which do you consider the wettest ocean? *grin*

Having said that, I'd say "Pigs Have Wings," one of the Blandings novels. It's Wodehouse's humor and word play without the occasional nasty edge that he gets by causing Wooster embarrassment.

Oh what a choice to make.

Back when I had a lot of the books my clear favorite was Cocktail Time, simply because it wasn't one of a series, so there wasn't the whole formula thing going for it, which I find does irk me after too much J&W. And because I loved so many of the characters, particularly the villain & his wife.

Okay, I find I'm fascinated by this icon you have of the girl getting changed bit-by-bit from a normal person to someone's Furry fantasy. (It took me ages to catch on that that was what was happening - I never claimed to be swift.) What's the story of this icon?

The girl in the icon is Susan, a character from a webcomic called El Goonish Shive. It involves transformation rays.

Oh, thank you! :) I had made that comment over eight months ago and long since forgotten about it - it's kind of cool to finally know. :)

Cor, what a question! I think any of them would do. But a personal favorite of mine is "The Small Bachelor." Jeevesless and Woosterless, which is sad, but it's excellent.

It's very funny you should post, just then. When I accidently refreshed this page I had just that moment finished fixing where I thought I had misspelled your name in about five different places (giving you credit for an icon) - but in fact I had not misspelled your name there, I had misspelled it when I originally downloaded the icon.

This, in fact, would be where I was busy misspelling your name: http://www.derien.rulesthe.net/icos/

I'm flattered to be in an icon collection at all, even with a misspelled name! ^_^

I haven't used the other two I've got there, yet, but I've gotten a LOT of compliments on this one.

I would say that I laughed at loud the most at "Psmith in the City" and "Jeeves in the Morning." Haven't yet read too many of the non-series books, however.

'Joy In The Morning' - pitch-perfect, the plot zips along seamlessly, and with characters like Edwin the Boy Scout, one cannot go wrong. :)

(I've read probably half of Wodehouse's output so far, but though I love Psmith and Blandings, and the one-offs, J&W still rule the roost for me!)
