Date: 2015-07-03 02:40 pm (UTC)I've always wondered how Bertie was orphaned, and it irked me a little that P.G. Wodehouse never really went into much detail of his childhood. It's an interesting theory that Mr and Mrs Wooster could have passed away on the Titanic, and actually seems rather plausible.
By the way, did they actually make teddy bears like that, or is it something that you thought up? It sounds a little morbid and insensitive of Aunt Agatha to give one to Bertie - in my opinion - but I wouldn't put it past her, to be honest.
Thanks for sharing this - it's really well-written and I enjoyed it, even if it did break my heart a bit. :)

I have heard it said that they made 600 to commemorate the children who died on the Titanic, but those numbers don't actually match up, so I'm not sure why they chose six-hundred. I thought Aunt Agatha might see it as a solemn and proper way to mark a tragedy in a child's life, and maybe think she was doing something special for Bertie and his sister because they were so rare. But I agree, morbid.
