Title: Jeeves and the Uncommon Senses
Author: Mice
Pairing: Bertie/Jeeves
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: AU, Sentinel mashup, violence, non-graphic torture, h/c, angsty bits, bring a hanky, special guest appearances
Words: 85,700
Summary: An accident triggers unexpected changes in Jeeves’s life -- and in Bertie’s.
Disclaimer: I don’t own a damned thing. This is all for my own perverse amusement. No newts were harmed in the production of this story.
Author’s Notes: This story is set in a variant of The Sentinel universe. Sentinels are individuals whose senses are extremely enhanced. These enhancements can, particularly at first or if arrived at suddenly, be disorienting to the individual involved. Guides are the sentinel’s emotional anchor; they are able to help the sentinel through these difficulties and keep their sensory input from overwhelming them. Common fandom tropes include the idea that a sentinel and guide are destined for one another, and that they share a deep, often erotic, spiritual bond.
This is a setting of Jeeves and Wooster in that universe, with the assumption that sentinels and guides are a known and accepted part of society. For a fun Sherlock Holmes mashup with The Sentinel (complete with a ton of cracktastic Sentinel fandom AU tropes), check out Observations on Sentinels and Guides in Victorian London by RyuuzaKochou. We will not be going that far. The bus exits from the door to your left.
