Good afternoon! Oh, do I have a treat for you guys today.

Hee!

Readers of the Saturday Evening Post on December 23rd, 1933, opened up their magazine to one of the best early Christmas presents ever. Across from a truly nightmarish portrait of Santa Claus shilling Whitman's chocolates lay the first page of a new serial by P. G. Wodehouse, illustrated by long-time Post artist Henry Raleigh.

Somehow I can't see Gussie smoking.

Ha, what a schlubby-looking Gussie! I always pictured him being more gawky, like season 1-2 Gussie on the TV series.

AUGH!

Gussie strikes terror into the hearts of the general populous. I like how is name is written "Fink=Nottle" in the caption.

But let's have our first look at Jeeves and Bertie:

Poor Bertie can never get a good night's rest.

Well, it's hard to get a good idea of what Bertie looks like there, but HOLY MOLY, LOOK AT JEEVES! I think this deserves a closer look, don't you?

Aw yeah.

J/W slashers rejoice! We've finally got a winner. >:D

Uh-oh, this looks like trouble:

Bad touch! I need a Jeeves!

Ooh, Bertie looks awfully elegant. But he's still wearing a damn monocle, isn't he?

Meanwhile, Angela has a run-in with the dopiest-looking flatfish shark imaginable:

Apparently ladies, not fish, are Raleigh's strong suit.

And here, at last, is a really good view of Bertie's face:

Scandalous ankle tickling!

Is that a mustache and a monocle? NOOOO! Confound it, Raleigh! *shakes fist at sky* He looks pretty cute otherwise, though.

And here's Tuppy, looking like a gigantic baby:

OM NOM NOM
Is that supposed to be Dahlia next to him? She looks awfully different from the way she did in that first picture.

Angela leaves food out for the wild Tuppies:

How quiet and peaceful it all is!
Woohoo, Gussie's inebriated prize-giving!

SPEECH! SPEECH! SPEECH!
Poor G. G. Simmons looks more like Gussie than Gussie does.

You know what this story needs? It needs more pictures of Jeeves.

Gussie is ready to start knotting sheets.
Too bad he's so sketchy.

I leave you with Bertie waving eggs at Madeline:

He waves a beautiful egg.
Throw it at her and run, Bertie!
