Make my slash/crossover dreams come true!!! :P You could have a group go as Peirrot, Columbine & Harlequin (and the rest) - that was pretty popular around that time, but not particuarly excting. When did those women that dance the Can-Can first appear? :P Spanish dancers and other "exotic" things would be good - whatever country was the flavour of the month in England at the time.
