To be honest, going by the low number of commenters, I'm not sure it's something that enough people are interested in for it to be worth the hassle of doing it - as I said, I have to have the house to myself, and know I will for however long it takes to do. That half an hour of audio took me 14 hours. As I said when I originally considered doing it, I would also like to get some decent quality kit to work with, because the pops and rustles and creaks in it drive me nuts, and as it's a headset mic and the thing itself creaks when I move it's not something I can do anything about currently.
If it's something with more scene-changes that have dialogue, that will increase the time because of putting in the background sound-effects. The more characters, the more likely it is I'll want to spend longer trying to differentiate the voices sufficiently, possibly doing it rather more out-of-order and applying some processing to my voice as I would rather not resort to doing a comedy scouse accent again! I experimented with processing on the Bertie-voice I used for this, but it took off the slightly rough edge of old-man-voice I think I just about achieved, so in the end I didn't. If, however, I was doing any real amount of Jeeves-voice, I think that processing would work quite well and would save me a lot of throat-ache.
