I'm glad you like Cora. One thing I wanted to do in this story was to give Bertie 'sensible' people especially women to be around-as there seem to be so few sensible people in his life in the books. Cora is miserable right now, but she's smart enough and kind enough to realise that marriage to someone she does not love would only make another person miserable.
